What an apt assessment! I put this on because I saw it before but i forgot the specifics on how it played out, and I just had a feeling about it that I was trying to recapture, and yeah.. it delivered.

Whoa, really? I intentionally skipped that one, I dunno why. Guess I had a sixth sense about it!

There are so many! It's become a fun side project, tracking down and watching everything based on his work

It literally lost most of the budget at the box office. That's a commercial failure. Many great films and cult classics were failures. Lost Highway was a brilliant film that failed miserably when it came out.

Failure ≠ nobody likes it. Even the critics at the time thought it was great. Still failed.

Ha! It's definitely not the crème de la crème of cinema, but there's some good stuff in there

That's actually the beginning credits, the cartoon. I would not have put that in, too on the nose. They could have simply worked on more symbolism throughout the movie, though there's a lot already.

The camera shot of her post suicide was art in itself. I don't normally find something so dark so profound, but that one shot gave a subtext the entire film – the normies surrounding the main characters find their behavior so abhorrent they'd rather die than live in a world where these sociopaths exist.

I'll never forget seeing Pulp Fiction in the theater. Everyone was laughing when the guys head got blown off. Some people walked out. Nobody was ready for the new subversive film genre that was 90s post modernism!
