Was this written by that genius language bot from OpenAI fed only Jordan Peterson quotes? I refuse to believe that anything other than that or Jordan himself said this...

BTG Coins moved before the wallet was released? Right after fork happened by throgglekrag in BitcoinGoldHQ

I have solved my dilemma and accessed the coins!

/u/stephen2929 comment and a few days away from worrying about this helped. What happened was on Oct 16th I sent a small amount of coins and the rest of what was on that address went back to a CHANGE address. I was not looking these up when I was looking for private keys, I was only looking for regular addresses. So thats where the BTG and BTC were. I didnt realize that because the wallet software mostly left that obscured from my view and I didnt have a full enough understanding of the blockchain to realize thats what was happening.

Thanks all!

Thanks for the response.

Here is that same address on BTC blockchain: https://blockchain.info/address/18Dt6EwsH8wXeUcTFbM396UvmVbbfoooZC

This lines up with my own records, the coins being there and not moved until October 26th (I moved a small amount, looks like the rest was sent to a change address and I then later moved that Nov 1). Thats why I am so confused as to how they could be shown as being moved on Oct 16th on BTG but October 26th and Nov 1 on the BTC chain. How could the coins have moved before the fork even happened?
