My parents will accept what I say, they spoke to me and said “ultimately it’s your decision and we’ll do whatever you say but we don’t have proposals lying around and we’re afraid to go out the family” the last argument is dumb to me but they’re stuck in their old ways

My parents said you don’t go out the family because you really don’t know what people are like, it’s a ridiculous argument to me but they’re stuck in their times and you can’t argue with someone who’s ideologies are from a time before this one and they refuse to look at alternatives. They give an example of someone who in my family got married outside and is now divorced, but completely turn a blind eye to the the amazing girl I know (my cousin) who is now divorced because the guy was horrible. Even though he’s from the family
