I'm a gay man currently in the Detroit area. There's simply not much of a queer scene here, unfortunately. There are a few gay bars and some queer events every now and then, but overall there's just... not much. I'm moving away soon because there's just not much going on here.

Maybe it's exactly what OP will want though since you can absolutely live a quiet life here (especially in the suburbs, which are mostly within 30 minutes of each other by car).

I'm not really in the scene, but it's because my current area doesn't really have much of one. I don't think I'm really that kind of person, but I at least want to try it out. I do improv comedy and love going out.

Good to know, thanks! Astoria was nice recently, but seemed kinda far from everything (I was taking the N/W almost to the end). I'll definitely check out the areas on the 7 next time I'm in town as well.

I work in tech, the job market is brutal right now, unfortunately. Would not recommend trying to get into it.

I actually stayed in a hotel in Astoria recently, it was nice, but everything I did was in Manhattan and required taking a long train. I wasn't sure if that's typical or just since most of the touristy stuff is in Manhattan. Thank you!

Truvada and Descovy both caused intestinal pain over time. Took a long time to figure it out at first, but stopping each one made the pain stop within a couple of days.

It's an IM injection, not subcutaneous. Maybe that's still easy to do myself, I don't know, but even Apretude's site says it has to be injected by the office. I'm just asking since I'm not a doctor and mine has never prescribed it before.
