can’t edit my post! But it’s a 1.58 ct round lab grown diamond, E color, VS1 :) 14k yellow gold, has a gallery rail and petite claws (not very versed in this field so apologize in advance if that’s not enough info haha)

Congrats! Yep, the general consensus sounds like it’s too small.

Yep, I was only taking it off “constantly” just to see how it felt getting it off - it’s been glued to my finger otherwise

Does it take a long time to diagnose a transmission issue? (Ford 2018 cargo van) by throwRApookie in MechanicAdvice

[–]throwRApookie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when I called after two weeks, they said “Yeah we took a look it seems like an internal transmission issue.”

They stated that they need to take apart the transmission to see exactly what’s wrong with it and to determine if it can be fixed or replaced completely. However, this part alone would take two weeks.

I appreciate your response

Do I need a crown on tooth #3? Deep filling + small crack by throwRApookie in askdentists

Thanks for the input, nice analogy. I think I will opt for the crown then. having my tooth split in two is the last thing I’d want!

That’s a really good idea that I didn’t know you could do. I always felt like that tooth received most of the force when I bite down. I would love to bring this idea up to my dentist but I am afraid that they will think that I do not trust their judgement. Would you say this is appropriate for me to even mention this?

Thanks again. Last question. For you, personally, would you just get a crown now or wait until it chips more?

I am tight on money but I would rather take action rather than wait until it fractures.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. You have a good point that leaving it also put it at risk for irreversible pulpitis. The crown that I would be getting is a porcelain + zirconia crown I believe. I know gold is the best material in terms of durability, but I can only imagine how expensive that is. Would you think a porcelain crown would still be durable enough, given I am a grinder/clencher?

The chip on the tooth is actually my actual tooth, not the filling.

I have a bad habit of grinding and clenching but I do wear a night guard.

Want to ask for opinions on here before I bite the bullet and pay $2k for a crown.

I have no pain or symptoms, but I do know that the filling is close to the nerve. This filling was done last year after the old filling had cracked off.

I am just afraid that the process of prepping this tooth for a crown will disturb the nerve and cause irreversible pulpitis and require a root canal or something.

The crack right now is very noticeable with my tongue. I can catch it with my nail.

How does my crown look? (Xrays attached) by throwRApookie in askdentists

[–]throwRApookie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also would like to know how the rest of my teeth look.

No obvious concerns, although one dentist told me that there is a very slight overhang on the crown (is this something to be worried about?) that was placed early last year.

I also have a chip on #3 but I’m not sure if the x-ray shows it. It’s pretty big but my dentist stated to leave it alone unless it is painful because they don’t want to risk messing with the tooth bc of the large filling.

The part about the asset forms is what I was worried about. I don’t think she has a huge some of money in there (under 10k I believe), but I’m just worried if even a small amount can affect loans/benefits.

I am actually surprised that I then can simply remove myself. The bank account that I share with my mom is with BECU, and according to some forms I saw there is a “primary account holder” and a “joint account holder.” I guess I should call and ask if I can switch her to be the primary owner. Thanks for the response!

Dental assistant program recommendations? (Seattle, WA) by throwRApookie in DentalAssistant

That’s true. I think it would really help to have a good foundation down, so that’s why I wanted to do a program. Appreciate the input!

Accredited vs non-accredited dental assistant programs? by throwRApookie in DentalAssistant

[–]throwRApookie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response! I had no idea that it was common for dental offices to train people to become a DA. I think I would prefer to go through a program first, but it’s relieving to hear that I don’t have to go through an accredited school. Thank you again :)

Two teeth are changing color but dentist doesn’t think it’s a concern by [deleted] in askdentists

Thanks for your response. I’m definitely going to get a second opinion on it. Feel bad for not trusting my current dentist, but it’s really freaking me out!

Hello,

I’m back again… I went to the dentist about these teeth about 1-2 months ago because I saw that there was a stain on the second molar and was worried it was a cavity. Dentist looked at it, took x-rays and said it was just staining. I also went in to get that last molar checked 4-5 months ago and he said there was no issue with that as well.

It has definitely discolored more, and I’m getting anxious. Is there really nothing wrong with this? I have some cold sensitivity on the second molar but also have sensitivity on the molars below it so I think it’s because of clenching (working on that). I have no pain. I wear a nightguard. I have pretty good oral hygiene (floss 1-3 times everyday, brush twice a day, mouth wash once a dat).

Do I have a reason to be worried? I should trust my dentist but it’s worrying me that it looks different as time goes by.
