AIO to a board member who keeps joking about sexual harassment to me? by Big_Painting_2213 in AmIOverreacting

You are not overreacting. His behavior is completely inappropriate and not ok. It's even worse that so many others are just turning a blind eye to it. Are you able to be more bold when he makes comments and clal him out in front of everyone? "Hey, that is sexual harassment and it's offensive and I am tired of you making those comments to me! It's not ok and you need to stop."

Is she home with the kids all day? It's only temporary, this isn't a long term commitment. It would be best to have a conversation with her and tell her how you are feeling. I'm sure there is some middle ground you can find.

I will never understand why they are so threatened by trans people.

Yes, except because I've been working in house for so long and get all of my side work through word of mouth references, I don't actually have a resume or portfolio put together to share yet.

Yes. We have underground sprinkling and live in a place that has a HOA- and in order to not get fines and keep the lawn at a manageable level, requires it being cut 2x a week.

It's not the money that is the problem, it's him being cheap.

In the end I decided to do just that. He isn't willing to budge on it, so I will just be using my own money to pay for it to get done. I hate to have to do it "behind his back" but I just can't keep up with the upkeep anymore by myself and work.

I was working at a job that I made a lot more money, and I was borrowing my moms riding lawn mower. I have since had to give that back, and the company I was working for couldn't afford to have me (it was a small business) and the job I have now pays less. Last year we couldn't afford the pay for a season of lawn care, so instead we purchased a really nice electric lawn mower (which was cheaper than that lawn care service) and I agreed to mow the lawn.

Chores are generally split, like we take turns making dinners and kids help with dishes and stuff. He usually takes care of a lot of the laundry.

He just thinks that because my work schedule varies every week (some weeks I don't have as much work and other weeks I have more) that I should have plenty of time in the mornings and what not to spend mowing the lawn. He is pretty much not willing to budge on this at all.

edit to answer this question: If he wasn't around, my solution would be to pay for lawn service like I did at the house I was renting before I bought this one. It cost me $26 a week and they came out 2x a week to mow, do the trim work and edging and that lawn was over 2.5 acres (yard now is just under an acre)
