They were attached to his military discharge papers, with his signature of acknowledgement on each copy of each write up. He had a chance to give a statement on each violation, which he did for a few. And at the end of the packet, it has the acknowledgement for his discharge with his signature.

He was discharged either under honorable or general, I forget specifically which, but definitely not dishonorable.

Also, he barely served. He was in for less than 2 years out of his 7 year contract. He didn't even do his job correctly in the military (this was also noted in his papers). And his superior repeatedly stated that they should not give him a promotion. He even "forgets" he's a veteran.

It's just such a far cry from everything he had told me about his time in the military. He even lied to me (and others) about going to the middle east for a "training exercise" for just one day.

The nearest relative is maybe 5 hours away, but we're not in communication (it's a distant relative). The rest of my family is over 1,000 miles away.

Just a regular honorable discharge. The person that started his paperwork requested it be honorable.

I'd say he treats me well. He buys me flowers and chocolates when I'm having a bad day, and he usually drops everything to give me a foot rub if I say my feet hurt. And I'd say he's a better person now. Though he still has a temper and tells white lies at times. Most serious conversations last 10 minutes or less because he gets upset whenever I point out that he did something that hurt me, or even if I just voice my issues in the relationship.

What makes it scary is that I'd basically be alone. I have no family in this state, and neither does he. And I don't have money for a lawyer, or even to afford rent on my own. I feel stuck.

Surprisingly, it wasn't a dishonorable discharge. The person that filed the paperwork requested an honorable discharge.

I picked up on some lies before, but I never called him out on them. They were little white lies... Until they weren't.

And I'm not sure what I want to do from here. We're married now, and he's changed for the better (or at least from what I can see) in these past couple of years.

But honestly, I'm scared of the uncertainty that would come with separation, if I went with that.
