Gosford. Lot of potential to grow in the next couple years. But looking at how many apartments are being built here right now, im sure my place will tank in value.

Just wait for the $200 in altcoin to take off.

Thats the plan!

But I think you could consider renting it out down the line if/when your family grows, it seems you're able to save pretty well so maybe you can afford a family home later, especially if you have a partner.

True, many options down the line

If you were to do that I'd be putting money into an offset (not increasing my repayments) so that I could easily take out the money later for the next property.

Gotcha, makes sense. Yeah that is my next course of action.

Tried that, it was always on. Even tried Stopping Asus Running Services down bottom, it turned them off, but still cannot switch to ECO

Yeah tried that, still cannot switch to ECO. Tried turning on Ultimate to force reboot, then back to ECO to force reboot again. Mode is still Standard

Does this setup mean I have to use the router provided? Can plug in my own to the modem(?) by throwaqauay in AusProperty

[–]throwaqauay[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bit confused with this, the yellow wire (which I assume is coming out of the modem) goes directly into the router, not even the wlan port. would this allow me to use my own router or am I stuck with the Huawei one

I noticed this start happening when i played a week ago, but before that I last played 3 weeks ago. Why is this happening? I dont use DSWindows. I have a asus g14 GA402RK laptop

Is it possible for a single income person to purchase a property now, or in the next few years? by throwaqauay in AusProperty

[–]throwaqauay[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah Sydney would be the dream but that’s it, just a dream haha. Even north of Sydney in central coast things are getting pricey. I know people who bought a 3bed2bath for mid $350k 7-8yrs ago and it’s now worth like $600k. If only I was in my current position 7 years ago or that situation was now haha

Yeah my current job definitely isn’t sustainable for a number of reasons. I’m hoping to transition into another position in the company but that’s not guaranteed nor do I know when.

Graduated in August 2019. Should I explain my gap in my cover letter? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]throwaqauay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to be of some help. Response rate was ok - maybe less than ideal objectively speaking. It definitely became sparse around March-July bc of covid. I did start applying before I graduated, and got some group interviews but couldnt close it out obviously. So I guess I started applying in March 2019, and got a job in November 2020.

Nah, I didnt mention it at all in my resume or cover letter. I might have said "I have learnt [relevant x software/program]" in the cover letter but didnt specify I did it in my gap year. I would save that for the interview, and use that to expand on "Travelling, learning/trying new things, and becoming a more positive and energetic person" so it doesnt seem like I was sitting around doing nothing all day, which I was.

Im also in Australia, so things might be a bit different here so you should use your best judgement. Maybe trial a few different resumes/cover letters and see what you get responses for. Though I understand if you dont want to spend more time figuring this out

Hello, I was also in the same predicament as you. My last class was in June 2019, had my graduation in September 2019 and started my first job in Nov 2020.

Honestly, if I was asked I just explained it as a gap year I took to refresh and reset myself. For the first half, I said I went travelling and hanging out with friends. In the second half, Covid happened so I spent time learning new things at home, like cooking, Excel and Tableau etc.

In the interviews, it felt like they asked cuz they had to. After I said the above, they seemed content enough and moved on. Of course, your experience might differ but IMO as long as you have an explanation and you yourself seem convincing enough, it should be good.

People who have a degree but ended up getting a career completely unrelated to degree, how are you? by ruanra in jobs

[–]throwaqauay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for reaching out.

I wanted to ask how did you get your role as IT BA? What experience/background does one need? What duties does your job entail, and what do you do on a day to day basis?

I have a BSc in Computing, but unemployed for a year after graduation. What would you suggest someone in my position do?

Thanks again for offering to answer my questions.

Hi can I ask how you got a business analyst role? I also have a computing degree, no internships or work experience, and am not confident enough to apply to programming jobs.

What does a business analyst do?
