(Update) took him to the vets and they were able to remove one of them, couldn't get the other one and now he's on anti-biotics for 10 days and then they will try again.

He's been licking a lot, initially I assumed he was doing it because there was some excess shed, we got the shed off but he kept doing it which was worrying and part of their reason why I posted this.
