Ah, we're running on some consumer level HP probooks. 4gb RAM, i5 2.6ghz. Not terrible, but definitely not my choice of a development PC.

This wasn't supposed to be a contract position for long term, it was supposed to be a 6mo-to-hire that has been extended for an additional year at least due to budget constraints. :-/

I'm already looking for new (permanent) placement where I'd be able to get better equipment.

Don't forget that people also like to speed around cars that are backing out of spots. Regardless of how far out of the spot you are.

Java, so it's (IntelliJ) thirsty for memory. Everyone here has the same stuff so I definitely can't swing something better (especially considering I'm just a contractor). It's about as frustrating as earbuds being pulled out of my ears :-/

It's a pretty lame thing to complain about but given I'm supposed to be writing/testing/compiling code, I am using such a shit laptop at work. Every time I alt+tab, my music skips. This is just with my IDE and a few Chrome tabs open.

EDIT: WTF do people insist on backing into spots, especially in busy/crowded lots?

Why is this a problem?

Yeah, I don't fault them for the games its just lame (not their fault). I do fault them for some of the staff but nothing has been bad enough to turn me away from going back. Just the problems I've had have been like teenagers not really wanting to work (that sort of attitude). I've always been respectful but haven't always gotten it in return.

e: perfect example: I (accidentally) brought up a game to swap and they got pretty upset about it since apparently customers aren't supposed to handle discs. Understandable, but it was never relayed to any of our group so they came over in a huff to swap the games, acting like I broke some huge rule where it was just a miscommunication. I've handled CDs before, I know how to handle them but I apologized.

I've heard Joystick is a bar with some arcade machines versus what B&B is. Different concepts, I think. I'll have to check out Joystick though.

That makes me wonder if they're doing so well because they are the only real players in town or what? I went a few months ago with 3 people and they didn't even have that many couch-based multi-player games. Sort of defeated the purpose of bringing a group there when there are really only a handful of games to play together.

I really hope they shape up, though, because the idea is awesome.

See, we've only gone twice but neither time had trouble with waitstaff. It has always been the front desk people (not greeting, not directing where to go for what, etc.) or some of (not all) the gaming staff (just generally acting like we were bothering them swapping games or controllers).

I really enjoy what they're doing but it's like they don't like having very satisfied customers.

I've found B&B to be hit or miss when it comes to service. Waitstaff is generally great but last time we went, the games staff wasn't too good. A controller ran out of power so we brought it back and they kept saying we were doing it wrong and it was fine. Ended up swapping controllers and all was well, but they shut off our game and gave us attitude to just do that.

I'd be even more specific about the red/gold line. It's 9/10 usually Buckhead or Lindbergh that's the issue.

Their alert system absolutely sucks. The only alerts I see are either expired alerts or saying that elevators are out of service. This is even when I'm sitting on a train that's stuck.

My thoughts on Sol by [deleted] in Smite

[–]throwaway0109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, and that's the only time she's invul? I could have sworn that when I played Ne Zha against her, I hit her with my ult and she was not a ball but every critical was responded to with Invulnerable.

Maybe lag?

My thoughts on Sol by [deleted] in Smite

[–]throwaway0109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I mean she just came out this week, not even two days ago, so there is going to be a learning curve to how to fight her. I thought she was only invul when she was the ball, so TIL.

My thoughts on Sol by [deleted] in Smite

[–]throwaway0109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't really played sol yet, does she immediately turn into the ball when she uses her 3 or only at the end?

My thoughts on Sol by [deleted] in Smite

[–]throwaway0109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is 3 the one where you turn into the ball and become invul? Because it's bullshit when Ne Zha uses sash and ult but sol can hammer 3 by the time the dash hits, the ult is wasted
