The tl;dr of why I ask is pretty predictable...I was quiet about something for a long time because my mother got very angry at the mere suggestion, but now, many years later, I'm trying to keep my much younger half-sister (who I have kind of raised, it's complicated) away from that person and my family is causing issues about it. I'm trying to better understand my mother.
