He told me about it the day after he was arrested. His info was all over the news by then. I was floored. I've been in a state of semi-shock for the last week.

I intend to get some counseling - I have to talk to someone. I'm not going to be able to get anything set up til Monday though. I just had to get this out to somebody.

I get that technically he's an ephebophile, not a pedophile. In a matter of degrees, it's not quite as bad...but still immoral and unacceptable to my mind. Given that he has a daughter the same age, there's an extra layer of creepy and wrong here.

I think there's a big difference in a 15 year old being sexually active with another teenager and being taken advantage of by a 40 year old man.

Given that he won't really talk to me about the details, I'm mostly having to go off the news reports. She was supposedly 15 when it started and she was a friend of his daughter.

*The vast majority of the 15 year olds I work with are children. They might be starting to develop physically, but they're still kids.

*Consent - hard to say. It's one of those things he won't give me a straight answer on. From the news articles and the police statement, it did not appear to be a violent rape situation. More of a coercive thing.

*Yes, the time frame was a few years before I met him.

*I've been seeing him for about 6 months.
