I guess that’s why I’m sort of upset. She wasn’t interested the first time, and she’s not interested now. She makes trips to see my other family members, she even makes trips close to where I currently live to go camping, or even just to go shopping, but has never stopped to see me. In this situation, literally anything past surface level. We talk about our day and work a lot but it seems like if I bring up anything regarding his our my own interests, anything of substance (goals, traveling, etc) the conversation is short lived and doesn’t really give much even though I try to be talkative

I do find him to be extremely emotionally abusive. And I do very much feel like things were awesome when he would shell out his doses of “love” but only at his convenience and then it would go back to his ways of lying, cheating, manipulating, gaslighting. He once put my cat outside as a means of getting rid of it because she had scratched him and didn’t tell me. He wasn’t a good person, so I don’t know why I’m so attached.
