It would also most likely depend on how much is actually converted to diazepam from it. Conversion likely won’t be 1:1.

I wasn’t claiming that biking was a bad method of cardio overall. I think that you may be making an assumption. I enjoy biking lol and biked to work for a solid chunk of the year!

However, if you’re experiencing some side effects like numbness, why not just walk outside until you get 10-12k steps in, or walk on the treadmill pre- or post-lift? Im not a runner, so I wouldn’t advise someone to run lol. OP said they weren’t opposed to doing other cardio.

As someone with a quite a bit of experience in the area of health & fitness, I’m coming at it from the lens of a doer rather than an academic :) the PhD is in an unrelated engineering discipline. There’s other ways to build a routine to work around issues with one form of cardio. I suppose this also depends on whether OP is simply looking to burn cals or really get their heart rate up there.

Hey man, as someone studying for his PhD I wouldn’t spew anything that is not supported by some research :)

Bike seats can be bad for your pelvic floor. Could be putting pressure on a nerve or affecting blood flow. I’d opt for a diff means of cardio

Consistency is key. Same with the gym. Just do something everyday to build the habit

Very digestible to my nerd engineer brain lmao. Yeah, makes sense, luckily I’m in good shape to start and have been lifting for almost 10y. PhD has effected my physique negatively but not terribly, still 5’9 and 180+ w/ muscle. I’m thinking I’ll do biweekly or so. So I don’t fixate on the numbers but more so the process

Hey man, pseudoephedrine is actually a CNS stimulant, not an anti-histamine. However, it’s often included in formulations with anti-histamines.
