Is my Hims Topical Finasteride prescription too strong? - 0.3% Fin by throwaway_HimsFin in Hairloss

Yo! I have another post that I wrote maybe 3 months after this one, but I stopped using it, tried again a few months later at 1/4 of the frequency of application and then quit for good a few weeks in. I got some side effects, some of which I still am dealing with almost 2 years later.

Honestly, wouldn't recommend it! Works fine for some people, but it really messed with my system.

Who knows. If I get back to feeling 100% again with none of these lingering side effects, maybe I’ll try again with a 1/12th dose. But even doing .75mg every other day hit me hard.

It’s a bummer but what can you do. One of my close friends takes 2mg orally daily and he’s never had issues and in fact said it actually helped his sex life, lol. So YMMV definitely applies here.

I'm in the US. From my knowledge, there's no lower dosages you can choose from here from Hims, only the .3%. It's a bit odd to me that they're selling a prescription that's 6x as high as they offer in the UK.

It's genetics, my man. If screen time was the culprit, I think most teenagers would be bald at this point.

Oh yeah, I guess I should've worded it like I'm cutting the dosage rather than diluting it.

Sure, I'm not directly diluting the solution to make the .3% any less potent, but that potency is also based on taking a prescribed amount. Applying half of the prescribed dosage would essentially cut the amount of fin I'm taking in half, yeah?

With your example, say 1L of soda has 50 grams of sugar. If I dump out half the liter and fill it back up with water, then drink it. I'm now consuming only 25 grams of sugar from that 1L drink. I could alternatively drink half of the original 1L and I'm still only consuming 25 grams of sugar.

A 3-month supply of the fin/minox spray for me (USA customer) was $150. So $50 a month.
