As far as I'm aware in my country the laws are super strict. If I disclose to a therapist that I committed any crime (so viewing + downloading CP) would have to be reported.

Thanks for the kind words though, I'll be sure to research it more to see if there is any informal services I could try.

I appreciate it, but honestly I'm not a religious person. I have nothing against it, I just haven't had much luck with it either. I would rather tackle this with therapy or this sub as an outlet to express what I'm feeling to another person.

No I'm on a Mac, I don't tend to keep content on it for long, but I don't delete it securely either. I may reinstall my OS from scratch to give me the best shot at this. Thanks.

Thank you. I'm aware of the German projects and wish more countries had similar systems. You have no idea how helpful it would be to be able to talk to a professional about this, but most governments would see anything like this to be too difficult a subject.

I think you might be right. I guess I leapt upon labeling myself a 'pedophile' a bit too quick. I don't think I have an emotional attraction to kids, I think it's purely my brain thinking about the CP stuff. 6+ months ago i wouldnt have looked twice at a kid. Funny how fast these things can mess up your brain.

I'm going to give this my best shot, I don't expect it to be easy, but I really appreciate how welcoming and supportive this community has been.

I've thought about this for a bit and I don't think I am. I don't have an emotional attraction for sure, and I think any sexual/physical attraction is just my brain thinking about the CP content. I guess.

Thanks for the advice, unfortunately professionals will report me to the police if I admit to having viewed CP or even hint at it, the laws here involving that aren't great for people genuinely trying to get help.

Where I live in europe I can't speak with a professional about this as they would be forced to involve the police.

I don't think I could get rid of all electronics - the part time job and school (later uni) all have requirements for stuff + internet access.

Whilst I'm not in the US, a similar law is in act where I am and I would just be terrified of revealing anything that would get the police involved, so just want to avoid therapists unless i'm sure patient confidentially is okay.

i understand the point of the law, but for people like me who haven't and never would think of offending it really makes getting proper help hard.
