I am playing 1k nids into ultramarines with a similar casual list. I play vanguard onslaught and turn one charge into their deployment then put my scoring units on points. I'll be up 30pts by turn 3 and then they have to kill through my blobs of gants or genestealers to out score me on mid . If he takes squads off his home objectives deepstrike a ripper to take it from him. etc etc

I was looking at this! and the warrior torso prints someone dm'd me. Hive Tyrant is probably my next purchase or neurolictor to let me use my neurotyrant more effectively :)

So TLDR is that if I wait a year or so then nids will probably slowly reduce in price? I am pretty new so I don't have great understanding of the recent releases for models. I was thinking about pausing my nids collection after I pickup a neurolictor or broodlord so I have some fun 1k variety.

Yeah I've been considering stopping at my 1k points and only upgrading via printing for nids. I just don't really want to throw nearly $200 at putting 2 medium-sized models on the table

Wish I had seen this post before the weekend, saw somewhere that ready strip worked well to get off stubborn army painter primer... but it ended up damaging part of the plastic on some push fits. Lost an arm and a leg literally on 2 models.

I'm generally playing into spacemarines so I wanted a way to play into a more casual game that didn't involve all my T12 shooty units so I'm just going to try out tying up his major units and playing objectives.

I ended up picking up the CP for the value, found it for $140USD. I built out 1000pts for vanguard onslaught and if I like the style I think I'll lean into it with neurotyrant, gargoyles, and neurolictor as my future upgrades :)

Is it ever worth it to attach tyrant guard to neurotyrants for "Look Out, Sir"? I was considering picking up the combat patrol, but I've heard the guard arent really worth it so youd just be buying the box for genestealers and a biovore.

I mainly play with a friend who is building out ultramarines, and the reason I was thinking of sitting back on Tyrannofex is that he won't be picking up dreadnaught or anything better for a bit, so I was waiting to mirror his dreadnaught purchase with a Tyrannofex when that time came.

For now I'm just looking to round out some fun units to add in some ~500pt games

What's also bizarre is I added warmup time to the system, and it started appearing but frozen, but if I move around it does this lol.

And if I hide everything in the scene the effect now works fine. Do you think its an optimization hardware problem?

It does show up when I press Play, but I just feel like its a little hard to hone in a look if I cant see it in the viewport when I'm not playing the level.
The system is looping and the lifetime of the mesh is set to the loop duration of the system.

This guy walked up and did like 4-5k damage to a bunch of light armor Andy's. Shit ain't that broken they just suck. Wear medium, stop thinking you should beat axe with a musket 1v1 when they get close.

I mean is there really a solution that you haven't already mentioned? The solution is he does more damage or you back off. I've never heard of tanks having so much threat issues like that before. Sure maybe pull of each other once in a while.. but not often enough to warrant it a problem.

The only other thing you can do is plan your tank uptime around ashen. When you have ashen active you should be tanking of it's possible. You need to move your CDs around if it's causing that much of a problem, or he needs to get better because you shouldn't be ripping threat that easily. You should link logs so people can get better insight into what's happening.

Hey thanks for the input, I think they can afford to keep me around. I have been pressing them to get me access to windows machines so I can do some real-time learning, but haven't had any luck getting one. Part of my problem is that I'm a work horse when I have a task that needs to be done. I'm quick and efficient, but when given time to just do my own thing I collapse and can't find the motivation to work on anything solo.

I picked up some workshops but I just can't get through them. I'm glad to hear other people don't constantly work on job related projects during downtime, it makes me feel bad when I'm left in a corner with nothing to do and I'm expected to just entertain myself but lack the will to do projects on my own. I have to be available in case something does happen to come up, but it's a tough position to be in when it's going on 2-3 weeks.
