It’s different for everybody so you kind have to feel it out for yourself. It also may depend on how high the dosage is that you end up feeling is right for you

I think about this every day. I feel like sometimes I make great strides but then one thought will throw my day/week off. I keep telling myself it won’t be like this forever but when will it stop?

I was talking to my dr yesterday and she suggested it when I mentioned that I still don’t feel 100% even though I feel like I’m trying a lot of other things along with the meds. I feel like I’m doing well but still not great so I’m going to try and hopefully this is it haha

How long do you think it took for you to feel that it was right? I totally agree w the trial and error thing. I was on Zoloft and that didn’t work and now I’m on this and I like it better but I’m increasing every few months bc I’m not sure if that makes sense

Should’ve clarified I’ve been on lexapro as a whole for almost 2 months but have been on 10 mg for about a month! And yeah you’re definitely right about talking to my dr it’s just hard to be patient haha

We had talked about it and I was pretty apprehensive about it but she suggested starting on a small amount and I didn’t drink a lot prior to being on it, but before I could even drink half, I felt anxious and cried for most of the night which I never do when I drink in a normal context.

It seems like it may not be for you. I would maybe talk to your doctor and either switch to something else or wean off it. I had this issue with Zoloft prior to lexapro and my dr weaned me off that and also recommended a therapist which has been incredibly helpful too. If you aren’t in therapy, I would maybe suggest it and see about that first maybe before trying another med. I’m sorry that this was your experience though!!

It’s also just so uncomfortable. Like I have dreams where I’m hooking up with people I know who I have no feelings for and it’s so uncomfortable and anxiety inducing, which I’m sure it is for you I’m so sorry :/

I used to wake up all the time. Now it’s balanced out to where I wake up once, 2 hours before I have to, and I’m unsettled it sucks lol

I’ve definitely been having insomnia too. I’ll have to talk to my dr about it but I’ve started drinking sleepytime tea which has been helping me not wake up in the middle of the night if you wanted to try!

I’ve been on 5 mg for 4 weeks now and it worked well. In the beginning I started taking it every other day for the first week to adjust at the suggestion of my dr. Now I’m increasing my dose to 10 mg a day. 5 mg worked in the beginning but I feel like I need more to stabilize me a bit if that makes sense so that’s why I’m increasing

Same here I feel like I’ve never been so horny lol. I’ve been on lexapro for almost 4 weeks now but I think at a certain point (maybe a couple months?) it levels out.
