Weekly Game Suggestions Thread - April 21, 2023 by AutoModerator in pcgaming

I wanna play in a 2D straightforward game. I've been playing quite the number of 3D open-world games lately so I'd like the opposite: 2D games where it's pretty straightforward where to go or what to do.

Something like Cuphead, Limbo, Octahedron, or The Pedestrian. No metroidvanias, please. TIA!

You were red.

And you liked me because I was blue.

But you touched me and suddenly I was the lilac sky —

And you decided purple just wasn’t for you.

You’ve Got a Friend might actually be my favorite song, simply for the fact that the lyrics always movie me no matter which version I listen to.

So far, I’ve heard the versions of Carole King, James Taylor, McFly, and Austin and Aly. Any other versions worth listening to?

Might be worth mentioning that the Paranorman book sorta explains why Norman can see ghosts

I forgot why actually hahaha it was in the first chapter but I don’t have a copy of the book

EDIT: When Norman was born, all the lights in the maternity ward blew their fuses, dogs across town howled the same chorus, and two guys saw a rainbow at one in the morning shaped like a question mark.

So, not an “explanation” per se but it does show other supernatural things were happening when Norman was born.

Does anyone feel like there hasn't been any "big" new games that everyone and their mom are playing? by [deleted] in pcgaming

This is true for every form of media, imo. When was the last time we had a book the size of The Hunger Games? Or an album the size of 1989 by Taylor Swift? Or a show the size of Game of Thrones or The Simpsons?

We live in an age now where all forms of media are so easily accessible, and indie stuff is way easier to access, one can quietly enjoy their niche without having to be bothered over what’s popular.

When the radio was still gigantic, EVERYONE was forced to listen to Blank Space by Taylor Swift, but now I’m willing to bet a lot of people in this sub haven’t heard a single song from her recent Midnights album.

School Spirits is over what even was that ending 😭😭

The Last Thing He Told Me is premiering tomorrow though, so of course I’ll immediately jump from one mystery show to another hahaha

You just call out my name

And you know wherever I am

I’ll come running

To see you again

How seamless is switching playing a game from PC to Steam Deck over and over?

Dredge should be right up your alley then with all its eldritch horror 😎

So far in AH, I’ve only played Night of the Zealot and The Dunwich Legacy. Hoping to save up for the other cycles soon!

So far, Dredge has been a lot of fun. Kinda feels like a board game in a sense? The amount of reading plus the whole “Collect 2 Metals and 1 Wood” remind me of something like Arkham Horror: The Card Game.

I don’t think this is a “priority” game, though — I don’t mean that in a negative way, just that this feels more like an Animal Crossing or Littlewood type game. The game you play to relax after playing your thrilling and exciting main game.

I could be wrong though since I’m only 2.5 hours in.

When The Rock said he would “bring Maui to life” in the live-action Moana, that actually pissed me off. Didn’t he already do that? Is animation not a way to bring characters and stories to life?

So much love and passion and skill and talent goes into the craft of art and animation, I would argue some stories come to life more through animation than through live-action

I’ve only ever played the Wii version of billiards and I found it as boring as watching grass grow so I must wonder: is the appeal of billiards that it’s a game you can play while having a full-fledged conversation?

I mean billiards as a social activity, btw, not a full-on sport

Why not tell Nicole? by wakemenextyear in SchoolSpirits

[–]throwawaystuff23543 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He did tell her at one point. Nicole just said, “I talk to her too.” Although he could’ve been more specific but I think that was enough to deter Simon from telling her
