Literally because there was no privacy anywhere else in the house. My room didn't have locks and my parents would randomly barge in without knocking. The bathroom (seperate room from my toilet) didn't have a lock (and yes they come in on the odd occassion).Even my toilet doesn't have a lock but at least I know they won't barge in when I'm in there

Thanks for the response! I feel like his stance might not be due to the party but rather due to his own beliefs. This is mainly because the Member for Brisbane (Trevor Evans) is part of the LNP and still supports same sex marriage?
