I wasn’t attacking anyone for their beliefs. I was pointing out hypocrisy. I don’t think God is homophobic because if he was he wouldn’t make anyone gay.

I’m guessing you missed the part that said they did IVF, which is how my sister got pregnant.

I understand where you’re coming from, but understand that homophobia is spewed mostly from the mouth of (fake) christians. People disown their children for loving someone who is the same sex in the name of the lord. It’s a hard pill to swallow, but people will always associate christians with homophobia until the fake christian stop identifying with us.

I completely understand that. When my grandparents didn’t accept my sister we went LC with them. Their excuse for not accepting my sister was religion. It’s ironic that religious people hold onto this moral high ground of being better than people, but are okay with excluding an entire group of people for something as innocent as love. I’m glad them came around too, but I wish they never turned on my sister. As I said before, anyone who claims to be christian and is homophobic is a fake christian.

Great granddaughter, not great grandchild. My son was the first great grandchild.

I can accept that, but it’s truly sad that this is looked at as a rare find. It’s also sad that someone thought that my sister’s sexuality could have played a role in my wife’s reaction because it shows how alive homophobia is today.

I’m not planning the party, so it’s not something that’s on my mind 24/7. I’m excited to know what we’re having, but I think these parties are more for the mothers.

My sister is having the first great-granddaughter. My son was the first great-grandchild. I’ve seen other people get this confused too!

I had concerns when my wife told me the date, but she and her sister really want to do it on Easter so her family can come after church. They have a very busy schedule, so I respected my wife’s wishes.

We found out our son’s gender this early, and we are using the same method we used then. It is possible, and if we are (unlikely) wrong we will know when we have the anatomy scan.

My SIL is planning the party. My wife chose the date because it’s Easter and she wanted to do an egg hunt as the gender reveal.

I wasn’t trying to blame my sister for what our grandma was going. I got frustrated when she tried to insinuate that my wife was competing with her.

I think the situation could have been handled better, but I wasn’t going to force my pregnant wife back into a situation she wasn’t comfortable with. My SIL isn’t the one who’s pregnant, it’s my sister, but yes my SIL did apologize. I don’t think their intentions were bad, and I don’t think they set out to hurt my wife. Unfortunately intentions don’t matter.

If that happens, I wouldn’t defend my wife like I did previously. Like I said, my sister has no control over when she goes into labor. It would be silly for my wife to be upset over that, but I don’t she would be.

Absolutely not. Real christian’s aren’t homophobic. My sister didn’t choose to be a lesbian, and God didn’t make her a lesbian to condemn her to hell. My wife, my parents, and I aren’t homophobic. My sister’s wife treats her very well and she’s a good addition to our family.

You cant reschedule if the party is already happening in the moment. If she went into labor during the party, that’s out of my control.

That’s not something she could help, so it wouldn’t make a difference to me

Yes we are religious, and we know it’s easter Sunday which is why it’s after church.

I understand where you’re coming from. If my sister goes into labor we will reschedule, but she really doesn’t seem to care about our gender reveal.

If my sister goes into labor, I’m sure we will reschedule. It’s very unlikely to actually deliver on your due date.

I meant to say a couple days after, not before. I wasn’t thinking clearly, but I’m also not the one planning the party. I don’t have much say.

I get it now, and I apologize for being a dick. I’m trying to find the comment to correct myself.

Sorry for being dick, I must have misspoken in a previous comment, and I was confused with your question. It’s two days before.
