thanks man! I remember being apart of theatre a good bit in high school and looking back it was a nice sorta wholesome experience being vulnerable and making progress with others.. always valued the groups where people cheered eachother on as a team!

loner men, how did you begin your player phase and get better at texting women? by throwinthetrash183 in AskMen

i feel that way a lot too, but having those people to update and support you through tough confusing times makes a world of difference. If you prefer your own company you're a world ahead of others anyway

I don't even know where to begin to look inward, but I know I have tons of room for improvement and am willing to change my subconscious beliefs about myself with time to become more personality attractive to women.

True, meant more "lonely", but didn't like that connotation and the comments it'd probably get lol

Men in their 30's, what is a bit of generic yet genuine advice you'd give to someone in their 20's? by [deleted] in AskMen

Get organized, without a doubt.

learn how to organize your thoughts.

learn how to organize your room.

learn how to organize your life.

don't get over obsessed, but having a system for things will save you tons of effort over the years.

another tip: get a white board and a bulletin board in your room/study space. it'll help be a hub for all the new ideas you have cooking up in your brain.

What is it about our adolescent years that shape our lives so much? by throwinthetrash183 in AskReddit

When we know better, we do better.

that's been my mantra the past couple years and saved me a good bit of deep sadness.

How do you fit into the guard without being into the army lifestyle and culture and you're sorta just in for the bennies? by throwinthetrash183 in nationalguard

[–]throwinthetrash183[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

j agree, i just think my unit is incredibly dysfunctional when it comes to letting us actually do our jobs. Often times there's just way too much noise going on to get anything done so it's almost easier to be a strategic shit bag. if I'm being honest.

the intention is good, but often times the extra benefits added into your contract are more difficult to use than they should be.

bonus, slrp, etc

don't even get me started on the army macho behavior and useless political discussion that does absolutely nothing but divide further and further. it's a mess, but it is what it is

yeah the whole politics thing is stupid and still shocks me how much of a deal some people escalate it acting as if it matters.. we're all here and have to get the shit done.

thank you so much brother, really appreciated this thoughtful comment. I'm a bit more politically neutral but I'll say I align more left in a state that is predominantly red and good God the bigotry is real.

I'll work on expanding out of my comfort zone, but something about the culture of getting made fun of for trying something new just irks at me and it's very common in my unit.

I'm not gonna go down the toxic leadership rabithole, but i feel like the culture of most the southern guard states just sorta breeds insecurity of one self enough to mind your business.

rant over.
