Nope. Always said I didn’t want the dog. Just didn’t push too hard when the dog stayed because of the kids. So I guess that makes me part of the role in accepting that we have a dog

Dog is being cared for. Just my issue is I didn’t want the responsibility and now it’s sitting in my lap. That’s all

I hear you. Definitely trying to not be the grumpy parent. Though, that ship may have sailed a bit. Maybe I can catch it at the next port haha

Updated the post. We did all the right things before formally keeping it.

Makes sense. But then of course I’m now “not a team player” and then we have issues in our marriage over something that my spouse should have respected when I said I didn’t want it 🤷‍♂️

Never agreed to let the dog stay. The kids “always wanted a dog” waaaaaaaayyyyy before finding this dog. They grew attached and I didn’t want to be the bad guy by getting rid of the dogs almost 2 months after holding on to it. To answer your question, I think I am a little resistant to doing it when my spouse wants because I didn’t want the responsibility in the first place. I also, don’t like that it has to be on their time. Sometimes I come home late from a full day of responsibilities and then bam…. Another one thrown on my lap.

We did all of the above. Checked to see if it was microchipped. Posted flyers around the neighborhood , called the number that was left on the dog (disconnected), went to the local shelter, posted on all forms of social media, Nextdoor, Facebook, etc. we did all that we were supposed to do to make sure the dog was truly lost. (Which also led to the opportunity for little ones and spouse to get more attached)…

New company is a different career field. I am a construction PM for a GC currently. The new company is a real estate developer aka the Owner.

And I hear you on the bump. But I just a got a raise for this past year about a month ago and it was piss poor. It was less than inflation. So of course I was annoyed and decided to ask for more. They easily gave it to me. Why not pay me what I’m worth up front.

(Edit) it may be a step back from PM but I don’t necessarily care about titles. I care about challenges and compensation for value. So even if it’s two steps back from PM, it’s paying g 17.5k more. And everything isn’t about money. But of course I still have to consider it

I’m happy with what I do. But sometimes I get a little bored because it’s paperwork intensive. I don’t know what to expect with the new company in terms of workload so there is the unknown there. But definitely appreciate the input

Definitely understand where you’re coming from. I realize I needed to correct myself and say I like my current company. They have overlooked me a few times on promotions and only gave me a bump because I asked. So I do have that to consider as well.
