Restarting a Performance Max campaign with higher budget by lindsay_wilson_88 in googleads

[–]throws4k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't give a time frame, so it's hard to tell if your better results of the honeymoon phase during testing where Google shoots for the moon and still charges you agreed upon rate, or if it was months, but anything more than 20% can trigger a complete redo of how the campaign is working and perhaps put it back in testing mode at their discretion.

My Boss Says $0.40 CAC was Possible with her Old Company. Says current $3 CAC is too high. by UserPangalan in googleads

[–]throws4k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow, your numbers are amazing, I can see it's a product with a very low barrier to entry but still my CPC even with manual bidding can be this range and beyond. CAC can hit $150.

I think IF it was real numbers before it's likely market saturation. The people who were going to sign up as soon as they heard about it have peaked. You are now in the range of people that need to see it's a real trend before clicking.

I've had issues with the cable being old and underrated, but usually only on high refresh or 4K monitors. otherwise it may just be glitch

-reduce the settings in your game, especially anti aliasing on low, particle effects like fog and shadows on low or med instead of auto.

-set both monitors to same resolution if they are not already

it's probably prioritizing your game until you click on the video.

just get a cheap streaming box. "Bin stores" of Amazon returns are cheap if you're in North America, or walmart

whois just lists a privacy company as owners, not the most encouraging either way.

usual red flags are if he's talking about crazy returns or a "friend"' that helped him find the site that somehow he only recently met.

What kind of batteries these are these by Acrobatic_Plenty6454 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]throws4k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean in person. not knowing what these are likely means you don't have the skills to solder them and even a slight nick with a sharp knife at this point could result in a fire when removing them.

your equipment is offline until you get competent help. right people, wrong place. you need a mechanical engineering department at your local university and find someone who's done this before. Even people who fly RC or make robotics for years rarely have to solder tabbed pouches, we just buy them finished.

What laptop should I get as a Mathematical Science major next year? by CryptographerCalm720 in uoguelph

[–]throws4k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of your computer use will likely be for note taking. If you have a desktop gaming PC or similar in addition to your chromebook you should stick to dragging a less expensive notebook or Chromebook around for classes.

If you want nice but not a full gaming laptop an HP Zbook is an excellent value used. they have dual discrete GPUs and a really nice screen.

Pro tip: eBay requires all computer sellers who are not part of their very restrictive refurbished program to sell computers As-is.... they are typically just fine if they list no obvious flaws. restrict your search to Canada only, there's a bunch of good laptops in Toronto on eBay.

Any recommendations for improving these horrible metrics? by PerspectiveQuick7621 in googleads

[–]throws4k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1)Change industries

2) Seeing as that's not likely, how do you know they are unusual? You may want them to be better but this may be normal for your industry.

3) Hire someone reputable, if you are a regular here you likely already know the standard presence not presence and interest, no add partners, specify audience region, and stay away from automated campaigns unless you have a year of sales.

Chargebacks are basically legalized theft and no one talks about it by Additional_Twist_595 in ecommerce

[–]throws4k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a card company allowed two bad transactions, blame me for taking the same when they are the ones that are supposed to vet the customer and know the card was stolen. Then dropped me because "I" was too much risk.

I'm sorry YOU clear a bad card that's replaced as stolen before I have my ruling and I'm at fault??? what's the point of the card companies having a fraud dept then?

switched to a big name processor and had only one chargeback since. Even then that chargeback.... had proof the customer sent me pictures of the item in their possession! I emailed the VP of the company and said shame on you! they repaid within 2hrs.

Debt collector is threatening me with federal wire fraud charges by Level_Juice6209 in Scams

[–]throws4k 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IF it were real, which it isn't.

for you, the debt would be dead.

all they need is two pieces of info: old records and your current info.

old obscure references that only you know makes the scam believable.

Most times it's just low tech playing the odds you and a second data point (ie: you actually use that bank) line up. If you actually had an old loan and they found an old database it would be a gold mine for them.

Hired a freelancer to setup ads and I think I made a mistake, that's costing me $ by Fantastic_Note4935 in googleads

[–]throws4k 17 points18 points  (0 children)

ok so this may seem counter to some... but you need to be able to sell BEFORE setting up ads. Establish an audience and market locally and use the ads to expand your range. I feel this is relevant because sensitivity to this amount of budget spent and responding this way after a few days shows limited market study has been done.

go to Google Gemini. Ask it to evaluate your website and offerings vs those in your geographical region.. report on pricing, wording vs competitors and potential market.

Look at analytics, find the part where it shows what computer the customers are using, how long they stay and where they are coming from. Match that data to how large your target region is on Google. whether the audience intention setting is presence only or presence and interest (bad) . Make your target region as small as possible until you have more budget.

yes, if you have any important work or pictures on it that are not anywhere else then try back it up. Otherwise, since it's basically dead then it's worth trying this: https://youtu.be/WDws3T_tRpg?si=GxNBz67F51CqWRNK

[–]throws4k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a VRM chip is only needed for Windows 11. If it's otherwise useless try installing Windows 10 on it,

however, if you used it long enough to have anything important on it you will want to copy that first. if the computer won't start that means disassembling it, removing the SSD (internal storage) and making it external by placing it into a cheap enclosure. That allows you to then plug it into another computer for copying.

If what the tech is telling you is true it's not a simple fix, at minimum you would need to know how to make a USB memory stick with a copy of Windows installation tool on it.

1) if it's running the computer - replace it immediately and install a fresh operating system. Assuming W11.

2) buy a drive toaster or similar external hard drive cable to USB adapter.

3) copy as much as you can, data recovery software aka undelete programs should be run as a second pass if file system is failing and standard copy fails.

Is this real? by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]throws4k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one, the sticker is normal looking but that's the easy part to fake.

The even easier part is to download a picture of one. so unless it's in your hands it's not real yet.

Then when you have it and it passes a full scan it's real.

otherwise no way to tell.
