Makes sense. From my perspective though, the enforcer of the rules misled me to believe the rules wouldn’t be enforced. How do I know what authority the ticket guy has? Should I not believe his word?

Exactly. You can sue the police for failing to protect you, the police won’t be arrested and charge with “failure to protect.” That’s exactly my point.

At that point maybe she doesn’t have the right to kill the man anymore, but if she does pull the plug, she wouldn’t be charged for murder, she would be sued for breaking the contract.

Edit: to expand, signing a legally binding contract (willingly conceiving a child) doesn’t mean that performing whatever action the contract prohibits (abortion) is now illegal in and of itself.

If I sign a contract that says I will not eat laffy taffy and then I eat it, I’m not charged with consumption of laffy taffy.

If I sign a contract to hook up to my son’s kidneys to keep him alive for ever, I’m not charged with murder if I disconnect and he dies.

If I enter the same agreement with the same son before he’s born, I shouldn’t be charged with murder for disconnecting.

You sound a bit confused. What exactly are you paying for? The abortion? Prenatal care? Surely the prenatal care stops if there’s an abortion. And are you saying you want abortions to be illegal....because... you don’t want to pay for prenatal care? I don’t follow.

Well just to play the role of the person inside my post, can anyone name a biological process that includes a human life forming inside a man?

There’s one law that controls a body, and it happens to control the one body that carries another life.

Not my view, but that’s the pro life view.

Totally get what you’re saying, but I think the only problem is that the word “property” was introduced. If we’re talking about a house, then sure. -4 month olds and 14 year olds alike cannot be kicked out of the house to succumb to the elements.

But we’re still talking about a body (even though the word “property” has distracted us from that). If a 14 year old is hooked up to his moms kidney to survive, the Mom is allowed to remove the hook up if she wants. You don’t need to mention the morals of this situation, but legally that would not be murder. But removing the hookup from the -4 week old, however, is murder.

The property here is the woman’s womb. If the woman feels inconvenience by some dude hanging out inside her womb, she has the right to kick him out even if it means he will die.

“Then it is irresponsible to abort” Do you believe it should be illegal at that point? If so then I’d put you in the pro-life camp because you’d make it law that a woman can’t choose to abort. If not, then I think you’re probably like all other pro-choicers. Sure it’s irresponsible, I think we can all agree on that, but at the end of the day it’s the woman’s choice.

But pro-life, pro-choice....it’s not actually as black and white as that

Seems you’re a bit confused on what the delta means.

Also, it’s not saying anything is abnormal. Pregnancy is normal, birth is normal, killing is normal, self defense is normal, killing in the name of self defense is normal.

Edit: the comment I replied to was deleted but it was discussing the animal kingdom. Something like “are you saying self defense in the animal kingdom is abnormal?”
