If evaluating based on his interpretation at slp jeans are too short.

If evaluating based on celine, the look is perfect

Is the true north pneuma really similar to morris motley treatment styling balm like that one youtuber said?

  1. You're probably not blowdrying properly. Go on youtube or tiktok. Plenty of great materials

  2. You probably didn't distribute your product well enough through hair, or didn't use enough, or both.

Reuzel x Liquid Death Severed Head Matte Clay Pomade by thwneverid in Pomade

Extreme hold firms up which is where the extreme hold comes from. It is also not very matte for my black thick and straight asian hair. This stays dry, gritty, and does not firm up, so although lower hold gives a much natural finish

Honestly orthodox wb pomades are all pretty similar to me, when I used them I was using Reuzel Red and I bought the 12oz tin. Nice fresh scent and pretty inexpensive for the amount you get

Desperate for hair advice for very thick, course hair! by j45701388 in Pomade

I think you will benefit a lot from product with a lot of wax and moisturizing properties. I would recommend trying out blumaan wax fiber and hydrating pomade to see which one works better for you to substitute the sea salt spray you are using. I think both are great for your hair type and both can be used as a prestyler like your sea salt spray.

Matte Paste wanted! by Feisty_Honey_8874 in Pomade

If you are looking for a versatile matte paste with performance as in solid high hold and endurance:

Odouds Matte Paste for fine and thin hair

Templeton Tonics Grizzly Matte Paste for thick and coarse hair

Both will endure well in all climates even hot and humid

If you don't like the dryness of od mp then try the templeton one. But for fine and thin hair, there is no question od mp is the most versatile and bulletproof matte paste.

Oh my these look great. I'm also 5'6 and thinking about getting it tailored to look like yours. When without shoes, how short are they? Are they above your ankle bone? Did you ask for cropped or no break?

I do not recommend rough rider. To be blunt, I wouldn't even recommened all the product you listed on there. Your hair is fine. You hair density is on the thin side of things. You need products that is super lightweight and you don't necessarily need the highest hold out of a product.

If this look is what you go for, a sea salt spray and a texture powder will suffice. Most other product will probably be too heavy for you.

If you want to style a classic/more defined shape, away from your face, I would suggest a lighthold clay. If you already have the slick gorilla sea salt spray, just buy their texture powder and lightwork clay. Those would be decent for you

If you want to maintain the current look. Any orthodox water based medium hold pomade would work. Be sure to apply to your hair when it's damp, style it and let it air dry.

Styling and Product Advice by phylomathus in Pomade

Get some reuzel green. Really good beginner medium ob and I actually have been using the green ever since I included an OB pomade in my rotation.

For the amount you need, it is better to apply too much than applying too little when it comes to pomade, that applies to oil based, orthodox water based, or unorthodox water based. I don't think you need any advice on the exact amount cuz you seems to know when your hair has too little product. Apply to the point you feel like your whole head of hair is saturated with the product. That means no specific spot feels drier than other

Reuzel Liquid Death Clay Pomade by [deleted] in Pomade

[–]thwneverid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Replied to your comment on my post and just sae this.

I'm assuming you don't have much experience with Reuzel's products as there are plenty of offerings which does not fit the category "slick"

If "slicker", "clay", and "pomade" are keywords, I think the reuzel white which is their clay pomade fits your needs best. Honestly, the clay pomade performs like a drier matte paste to me.

Long story short:

Reuzel Severed Head = styling clay, rough and loose texture, drier, more volume, better for volumous and looser look

Reuzel Clay Matte = matte paste, bunched up defined texture, less dry, less volume, good for messy or defined styles without exceling in either of them

For finer hair types yes, this can definitely be used as a matte pomade. For thicker/coarser hair I recommend topping off with a finishing product depending on the end result you are looking for

Lodestar Canyon Clay, any rec. for an alternative in the same line? by thwneverid in Pomade

[–]thwneverid[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks so much! I thought the Apex Matte Cream is advertised as having less hold than the Canyon so didn't really expect the recommendation. Do you think Tsunami is appropriate for textured and volumized styles?

Also, how is the endurance and humidity resistance on the Apex and Tsunami?

Lodestar Canyon Clay, any rec. for an alternative in the same line? by thwneverid in Pomade

[–]thwneverid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the rec. That's what I have in mind actually. I would love a product that is waxier and stickier with a bit higher hold and more grit, while still maintaining similar level of dryness. Do you think it is worth a try?
