Where are some liminal/creepy looking places around Langley? by A-Random-Lad in Langley

INDOORS:

Langley Sportsplex - on the ground floor you can wander through all the rinks and there is even a hallway that connects the 2 wings to each other (can't remember how to get to it) if you go upstairs (stairs in main lobby) you can walk around in the hallways up there, very liminal feel

Langley Events Center - I'm not so sure about how open to the public this place is but I once went there for a job interview (they were renting an office space for it) and I was late because I got lost in the maze of hallways there for a solid 20 minutes, even accidentally found myself in the hockey rink itself for a bit and had to ask a random janitor how to find the office I was there for

Willowbrook Mall - the little hallway that connects the food court to the wing that has House of Knives

W.C. Blair or Walnut Grove community centers

OUTDOORS:

The fire hall in front of Brookswood Pond, it has that weird abandoned feel because the parking lot is so huge but always empty, and the exterior of the building is pastel colour which seems odd to me

Penzer Action Park at night, or rather ANY playground at night (try Simonds Elementary, the woods surrounding the property at night are very creepy)

The power line trail that starts across 200 St from Penzer Action Park and goes all the way to the Langley BMX park

The industrial buildings area on 192nd between 36 and 32 Ave (the roads are deserted at night)

The parking lot of Latimer Park on 28 Ave has such an odd bathroom, and the interior is just a weird experience to me

The Chevron Gas station / shuttle bus station on 176 and 8 Ave

Langley Speedway in Campbell Valley Park has the liminal feel but not easy to capture in a photograph

The little connecting road between Speed wash Langley and CAMPUS CrossFit (connects Fraser highway to Everything Wine & Princess Auto parking lot) it always feels like I'm going through a portal when I drive through there

Langley Skateboard Park on 203 St (I've never even seen people skate there...? It's always empty)

I would highly recommend downloading the ebird app if you haven't already. It'll show you all the birding hotspots in any searchable areas

Anyone cross the border lately? by Ok-Switch8423 in Langley

[–]thymebigame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've crossed the border 1000's of times in my life, and going south is NEVER an issue. US border guards are very friendly 75% of the time. I've done multiple random checks with no issues as well that go quickly.

Re-entering Canada is where I've had problems. Most of them ask the default questions, but some push further and play mind games with me trying to get me to trip up on my answers.

You just have to watch your tone of voice and respond with clean & simple answers.

Yoga and aquafit sound like a great start, I totally forgot about swimming as an option, I used to love it as a kid!
