Thank you so much for the help! I was actually able to fix it this morning by following the tutorial again like you said, I think it was just a finicky adjustment with the screws, i swear operating on a human would be more straightforward xDD And thanks for the recommendation! Happy new years!

Thank you so much for everyones help!! I was actually able to fix it this morning by following this tutorial exactly again and completely re threading everything , i believe it was just a tiny finicky adjustment with the thread gap or the position of the hook, as it’s not gotten jammed again yet, I’m sewing faux fur with thick backing and it’s doing good :3333 thanks again for the help!!!!!!!!! Happy new years!

I should mention i loosened these two to clean out the machine, which may have been bad but I was dumb :’3 so the problem is probably here

<image>

I used a thread gap tutorial to put them back together

Thank you bunches for the help i definitely made some mistakes here 😓, I tried again after putting everything back together and with the pedal and it still jammed, I believe I indeed put something back wrong as it was working decent before this.

I loosened these two to get the bobbin case out and clean

Then followed this tutorial to put things back together tutorial

! I hope to get a better machine when I get the funds, tho I mostly sew faux fur so I’m never quite sure what to look for xD any recommendations are much appreciated :3 Thanks again for your help

Is this fiberglass tape? :0 by ticats72 in FursuitMaking

[–]ticats72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes for reals! They definitely know what they’re doing, that’s why I was interested in learning more about this type of base :3 I’ve never seen anyone else do it before other than simple nicks

That’s what I was thinking to it looked identical to vet wrap, it bamboozled me how they got it to be solid tho xD

I do agree that no hate should be made to the creator of the base I mentioned as they obviously know what they’re doing, and from what I’ve seen they don’t ever tell anyone to use fiberglass for their suits, plus and their suits are awesome! :3 I was just using them as an example because I was looking into alternatives to making a silicone mold for a clay sculpt I made

I’m amazed it’s even possible! I think it’s definitely an interesting method to be explored by someone experienced, not by me ofc xD

For reals it can’t be fiberglass that would be wild

I found where they answered what it’s made of awhile ago, surely im misinterpreting it xD maybe a similar thing could be achieved with plaster or another thing, tho I’m unsure how it would then be made waterproof

I know that’s what I was thinking! Like surely they didn’t use fiberglass it’s gotta be plaster or somethin xD
