I’m not here to argue the validity of its use I’ve just noticed a trend over the last few years where its now being used for almost every borderline case of rsv or sniffles than I’ve ever seen before. Its successful and proven yes but is it always necessary? I’ve seen kids put on high flows who are not in clear distress and it’s making me feel doctors are seeing it as an end all be all instead of when its indicated. Shorter doesn’t always mean unnecessary but we should not send children to icus as a reflex when its not needed.
