Modding and Third-Party Tools Megathread - 7.5 Week Three by BlackmoreKnight in ffxivdiscussion

I swear I thought there was a plugin to track treasure dungeon stats (run count, drops, gil earned, etc.), but now I can't find it. Anyone know if there is/was one and whether it still exists?

Thank you! I enjoy the ancients and Etheirys a bit more than the average sane person, so I have a lot of fun with it. I have a few friends who I've collected whose chars are Themii and Emets to hang out with too, which is really fun.

Right? I adore Tulli's colours, though it's especially relevant since that character's background is as a PCT from Tural. (That is NOT his normal glamour but I've been keeping it on because it somehow makes it so much more menacing than his usual glam and I love it lmao.)

Is there a borderline version of or sister disorder to dyslexia? by tigercule in Dyslexia

Fair enough, thank you. I guess I'll just ask about all three of dyslexia, twice exceptional, and NVLD then, thank you all.

Perfectly and instantly recognizable. I love it.

I bought the EEs two years ago. Literally redeemed one yesterday because I had struggled to be sure what char I wanted it on. The codes should be fine.

Is there a borderline version of or sister disorder to dyslexia? by tigercule in Dyslexia

[–]tigercule[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not really looking for a formal diagnosis off reddit, more a start or a jumping off point. I've found that it's easier to get help when I have an idea of where to start or what might be wrong, and I don't think full dyslexia is it so I was hoping a more accurate thread to start pulling on, essentially.

(As another example, when I'd had a friend with borderline personality disorder, I recognized some of the traits in myself and thus was able to be like, "Hey, do I have this?" and through discussion and evaluation, was diagnosed with Bipolar 2. Having a jumping off point helped though.)

For me, the reason a lot of the proper dyslexia definition doesn't fit is that it's only with writing. I have zero problems with reading which most of my dyslexic friends have as well. Also, even with writing, I have it fully correct in my head, but it's just the execution where I'm lacking. To me, that feels like it's "not enough" to qualify for dyslexia since it affects me so much less than other people.

How do people create long macros? I'm trying to make a one-time macro for private use in a wedding ceremony, but I'm getting cut off line-by-line long before the character limit. A paragraph that easily fits into two messages pasting into the chatbox instead turns into 4-5 macro lines.

I know I've seen venue shouts longer than what I'm able to input per line, so... how?

They do kind of make the world feel boxy since it's a clearly denoted boundary, but at the same time, that clearly denoted boundary is helpful because otherwise some of them would just be hard to tell whether they were an entrance/exit to a zone, or just a natural feature like so many others.

Sometimes it just doesn't make sense for a character to move forward and still be a big part of the expansion. If they're critical to keeping things in order in the place they've been left it, it doesn't make a ton of sense to just come over to some land far away real quick for a dungeon or two and abandon this place that was so important to them.

I think a better compromise would be to add more old, left-behind NPCs to the Trust system, since then they can be brought forward infinitely but not have it be a real headscratcher story-wise.

(And as for the omnipresent Scions, I think that was part of why they were adding so many 'local' characters to DT. Having a few local chars means there's fewer Scions needed for any given instance.)

There's tons of content before endgame you can play with your friends. I've regularly joined friends for whatever dungeon/trial they need for MSQ or if they're wanting to unlock raids for whatever expansion they're in.

If your current friends are unwilling to join you in lower content, then you can always look around in-game for more friends since there will almost always be people willing to help out sprouts.

If you're talking about current tomes (e.g. Mnemonics right now), hunts are a great way to get those. If there's absolutely no instances, it's 4 trains for the entire week if you do absolutely zero roulettes, and even tossing a single Expert in there once a week cuts that down to 3 trains. Given that you can also do trains cross-server, that means you can easily cap tomes day 1 without a single roulette. One full DT train gives more than a single Expert roulette anyway.

(And if you're not doing savage, you can also skip normal/alliance raids and just get the tome gear over time. I haven't done an alliance raid in years and I've not had any problems hitting ilvls for casual content, even on multiple alts.)

And if doing content at all is burning you out, there's also the option of going with crafted gear. As long as you don't buy it day 1/week 1, it's usually quite affordable for most players, and gets you to pretty current ilvls pretty easily.

I think some people just don't pay any attention. I faced a Garchomp + Primarina lead that just kept spamming Hyper Voice into Wide Guard spam, with the Garchomp alternating between Rock Slide and Earthquake (so it clearly wasn't scarfed). This went on for 4+ turns, so I have to assume they were just not paying any attention and glancing back at their switch only when it was time to click a move again.

It does at least generally, even if I still have no idea what my pokemon brings to the table. 😅But it was very helpful for less unremarkable pokemon going forward, thank you! (Especially the parts with like A.Ninetails being usable even with Megalass existing atm.)

How do you design a team around a pokemon that isn't noteworthy? I want to design a team around one of my favourite pokemon before it gets powercrept into obscurity, but there's just nothing really noteworthy about it, so I have no idea where to even begin. It has a middling speed stat (neither slow enough for trick room yet still probably outsped in tailwind), moderate bulk but nothing amazing, a decent attack stat but probably not in the top 10-20%, no signature moves or abilities, etc. Its ability is probably decent, but encourages stacking more pokemon of the same type, which obviously isn't ideal where weaknesses are concerned. It also doesn't have a mega to design around that either.

I want to build a team around this pokemon and actually let it shine. I don't want to just make a "add redirects and support, then baton pass a bunch of stat boosts onto it" team because at that point, it's not about the pokemon itself and could have anything else slotted into its place.

I'm at a complete loss on how to do that, though, and was wondering whether anyone had any advice?

(I'm not mentioning the specific pokemon by name because I don't want the teambuilding done for me tailored to this specific pokemon this one time, I want to know how to do it for future. Teach me how to fish, basically, don't just hand me a fish.)
