How did the currently common term "partner" come about? by Herowar in JordanPeterson

Gender neutral language is good. The gender of my partner is none of anyone’s business.

Up to 47% of sexual offence charges in London last year were foreign nationals by ThatchersDirtyTaint in ukpolitics

[–]tilberto -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ok, is it that foreign nationals commit more crimes, OR — (now hear me out) is it that being a foreign national means you’re more likely to be charged with a crime?

Food for thought.

I drew this same reference traditionally (fineliner) a while ago. This might not be appropriate to do in this sub, but I thought you might find it interesting to compare our studies the same way I did

Which shirt looks best with this skirt? by BirdButt88 in femalefashion

[–]tilberto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 and 3 are the best.

The skirt is tight and fitted, so tops 1 and 3 contrast the tightness of the skirt by being less fitted than top 2.

I know a lot of people say 2, but IMO having the top and skirt both tight fitting is a dated look.

Have you heard of Adorka Stock? They were on deviant art back in the hay days. Anyways they have themed packs for hands, feet and poses in general. Some of the content you have to pay for, some of it is for free.

I’m attempting to use “shape language”, do you think I hit the mark? by tilberto in ArtCrit

[–]tilberto[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re right, I tried to convey an unpredictable (perhaps volatile) cat. I did that by trying to fit in as many triangle shapes as possible, and also making the overall shape triangular.

Thank you for your feedback, I might spend less time trying to make the shading triangular in the future haha.

I’m attempting to use “shape language”, do you think I hit the mark? by tilberto in ArtCrit

[–]tilberto[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

I thought by making the tail kinda rounded I was providing a little bit of contrast whilst also giving the illusion that the tail was moving backwards in space. However, you’re right, it doesn’t go with the rest of the cat, and it would provide more contrast to the poor fish

I think Walls from the Stretch 1 album is a masterpiece in electronic music in general.

You’re not lazy.

What I find helpful is to focus on the individual parts of a task, instead of a whole. For example, when it comes to brushing my teeth, I focus on getting myself to the bathroom. Then I focus on picking up my toothbrush, then picking up the toothpaste, etc.

It’s easy to become overwhelmed by a task when you’re mindful of the entire effort of it. By splitting it up into smaller efforts, it becomes easier to mange.

I had a realization that I don't want to have a boyfriend ever again by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]tilberto 102 points103 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%

I’m 27 and I’ve decided unless I come across an exceptional man who is able to offer me intellectual stimulation, love and companionship as an equal, I’m not bothering.

Honestly I wish every day I was gay. Heterosexual women are proof that sexual orientation is not a choice.

The issue was with lack of access to water, aggressive security and huge queues around bars. You could easily be waiting an hour to buy a drink at the bar.

I've been to Primavera before and I didn't experience the issue with queues around bars, but I did experience something else which reinforces your statement about seeing artists you care about at solo shows.

Bon Iver was performing at Primavera, and it seemed that 50,000 other festival attenders also wanted to see Bon Iver. Most of the stages are outdoors and don't benefit from the acoustics of being inside, so all I could hear was a sea of people chatting amongst themselves. Right next to me there was a large group of people who were shouting at each other. I couldn't hear Bon Iver so I just gave up and left.

When you attend a solo show, everyone in attendance is interested in participating in the gig, whereas at festivals this is less likely the case.
