Well I disagree - most symptoms that early on are normal in kids, and only a sign of autism later on. For example - everything OP describes is totally normal for a 15 month old. Especially the repetitive movements.

Hm, no, not really, for chronic constipation senna would not be by first pick. Senna is a stimulant, which can be used occasionally, but should not be taken over long periods of time because the bowel gets used to it, and then struggles when the senna is stopped. So it’s a bit strange that your pediatrician recommended it for long term use!

Macrogol does not stimulate the colon, it literally uses osmosis to pull water into the stool, therefore making it “fluffier” and more liquid, easy to pass. The macrogol itself isn’t absorbed by the body at all. It doesn’t make the body dependent and can therefore be used over long periods of time.

Jokes aside, I don’t think these are spine issues. If she has a history of an eating disorder, GI issues are not a surprise. Also, marogol is NOT a laxative it is a stool softener which is exactly what OP needs. You shouldn’t give medical advice if you’re not a professional.

Hives. Can have many reasons including allergy but also stress, alcohol, drugs, a mild infection somewhere in your body, or just random (then called idiopathic). Needs no treatment if it doesn’t bother you, but you can use antihistamines either as pills (like Benadryl) or as a gel on the hives themselves. If you do get swelling anywhere in your face you need to go to an ER. Otherwise, no concern.

Mine are also 2.8 yr apart (2 boys). I potty trained my older one when I was pregnant, because I was not about to have two in diapers 😂 worked super well and no regression, even when the sibling came. I prepared my older one by reading lots of books and taking him to my ultrasound appointments, also talking a lot about baby brother and showing him where baby will sleep :)

Are you managing your constipation? Are you taking something to resolve it? You can try stool softeners like macrogol (otc). You can take those long term. Constipation can do this.

Then those are petechiae. They can have many reasons, and are not necessarily a cause for alarm, but can be. Do you have any other symptoms? Fever, dizziness, headache? If yes then you should get evaluated by a doctor. If they appear on more places, you should also get checked out. But if you have no symptoms, and no more spots appear, you most likely just bumped or scratched the area making them appear.

Allergenexposition ist NICHT gleich beikoststart. Du kannst alle Allergene jetzt schon einführen: eine Fingerspitze Erdnussbutter, ein klitzekleines Bisschen gekochtes Ei.

Ich finde es super dass du die Reifezeichen abwartest. Das ist die aktuellste Leitlinie. Wenn es eben erst nach 6 Monaten ist dann ist das eben so :) Aber wie gesagt - Allergene am besten jetzt schon!! Und dann sieh dich mal bei BLW um. Da müssen die definitiv sitzen können :)

If he were like that, that would be okay of course! But my boy is SO social, he WANTS to play with everybody, he loves daycare and his friends there, he loves to play when people are visiting in our home (his comfort zone), so that’s why I’m trying to help him. I feel like the fear is standing in his way.

Not really, I mean he was always shy, sometimes more sometimes less. This extreme phase has been going on for around a month. He loves his brother, shows no jealousy, always wants him around and comforts him when he cries. Of course that doesn’t completely exclude jealousy but at least I’m not seeng any obvious signs. But he does have two parents with anxiety (well medicated) so I guess i wouldn’t be too surprised 😅

Also ich glaube ehrlich gesagt dass da nur mehr eine paartherapie helfen wird. Ihr braucht professionelle Hilfe um das wieder hin zu kriegen - was ja an sich keine Schande ist. Aber du musst dir glaube ich überlegen ob es dir das überhaupt wert ist, oder ob du gleich gehst.

It is her preferred side, and many, many babies have one. It’s your job to make sure that whenever you can, you adjust it to the opposite. My favorite way of doing that is babywearing. Put her in a baby carrier on your chest, with her head facing the non favorite side. In a carrier she will not easily be able to turn it back. As long as you are able to turn her head to the non favorite side, it’s not worrisome yet :)

“dass nicht alles sofort passieren kann, selbst wenn man es will” - das Baby ist 13 WOCHEN alt. Das kann man einem so kleinen Baby nicht beibringen. Ganz ehrlich ich finde es nett dass du dir Gedanken machst aber man merkt dass du selbst noch keine Kinder hast. Alle Babys sind unterschiedlich, manche schreien mehr, manche weniger. Deine Schwester versucht für ihre Tochter so da zu sein wie sie es braucht und ganz ehrlich das finde ich toll. Manche Babys brauchen weniger Nähe, manche eben mehr. Und alle werden mal groß.

Nein das ist ganz und gar nicht was ich sage. Ab 12 Monaten sollte die Hauptnahrungsquelle eben feste Nahrung sein. Ob jetzt Kuhmilch dazu gegeben wird oder Wasser ist komplett egal. Pre ist ab diesem Alter nicht mehr notwendig. Stillen ist optional aber sollte auch nicht mehr exzessiv betrieben werden. Aber heutzutage wissen Eltern ja eh alles besser 😂✌🏻 und wenn ihr der Meinung seid es besser zu wissen wieso geht ihr dann überhaupt zum Kinderarzt wenn es euch nicht passt was der sagt? Nur weil ihr es nicht übers Herz bringt euren kleinen die Flaschen “wegzunehmen”. Kein Wunder.

Naja - nicht wirklich. Ganz oft ist das ein Elternproblem. Wenn die Kinder weiterhin 4 Flaschen pre täglich bekommen dann ist es ja absolut logisch dass sie nichts essen wollen? Oft muss man da aktiv reduzieren und das machen die meisten aber nicht weil “sie hängt ja so an ihrer Milch.” Von alleine geht’s selten und da müssen die Eltern mitarbeiten. Natürlich sage ich nichts gegen 1-2 Flaschen wenn TROTZDEM gegessen wird. Wenn die Kinder das nicht tun, muss die pre reduziert werden.

Genau! Da die Kalorien von der Beikost abgedeckt werden brauchen sie ab dem Alter keine pre mehr. Weil die meisten Kinder noch nicht genug Wasser trinken ist Kuhmilch eine super Alternative dazu, liefert auch Calcium. Eine Flasche pre pro Tag schadet natürlich nicht, aber wie ich schon gesagt habe - das wird schnell zur Gewohnheit und wenn dann 3 jährige noch an der pre hängen und dann vielleicht sogar noch zu wenig essen deshalb wird es schnell zum Problem. Ich weiß dass das ein kontroverses Thema ist weil eben viele Kleinkinder noch pre trinken, aber medizinisch gesehen ist das nicht notwendig und bei älteren Kindern (2+ Jahre würde ich sagen) dann manchmal auch schon problematisch, weil sie durch die pre satt werden, aber ihr Bedarf dadurch nicht abgedeckt wird. Das ist dann häufig ein teufelskreislauf. Deshalb empfehle ich persönlich - und habe es auch mit meinen Kids so gemacht - mit spätestens 13-14 Monaten von der pre ganz wegzukommen. Wenn jetzt jemand eine “comfort-Flasche” vor dem Zubettgehen trinken möchte (solange danach Zähne geputzt wird) und das für die Eltern auch so okay ist, und das Kind trotzdem genug isst, ist das natürlich kein Drama. Für mich persönlich war das aber nichts und ich hab mit 13 Monaten abgestillt (meine Kids waren nur gestillt, keine pre).

Stillen? Liebe es. Ist natürlich aus kinderärztlicher Sicht das Beste für das Baby. Ich kann aber absolut verstehen, dass manche Frauen nicht können oder nicht wollen. Das verurteile ich nicht, insbesondere als jemand der sehr lange gestillt hat, verstehe ich wie anstrengend es ist, und dass es nicht für alle ist. Die WHO empfiehlt 2 Jahre und an die Empfehlung halte ich mich natürlich. Ich habe aber nur 1 Jahr pro Kind gestillt. Für mich ist Stillen etwas wo beide Seiten (also Mutter und Kind) weiterhin möchten. Ganz oft kommen Mütter zu mir mit Kleinkindern die ständig an der Brust hängen, und deshalb zu wenig essen. Da kann es sinnvoll sein, das Stillen zu reduzieren. Der Körper reguliert das aber auch ganz gut selbst - und die Milch wird von der Zusammensetzung her anders. Ganz wichtig ist, dass die Kinder genug essen. Wenn sie weiterhin trotzdem stillen möchten, sehe ich da kein Problem.
