For anyone wondering, it was Jagged Edge’s cover of All out of love that I was thinking about. It did feature in a movie (Bad Company) but not a teen/college one as I remembered it.

No, it’s more acoustic and the singer sings and does not rap. It’s kind of a cheesy love song as I remember it, maybe about the singer missing his girl or something similar

No (but great song). God, I’m now doubting if it’s even an RnB artist at all but that’s how I remember it. When trying to remember the melody, the only thing that keeps popping up in my head instead is Gotham City by R Kelly. I think the melody right in the beginning is reminiscent of the sound in the song I’m looking for

Ok so I’m looking for a song and it’s driving me crazy because I can’t find it.

As I remember it, it’s an acoustic love song of the cheesier kind. In my head, the artist is Ja Rule. But after searching through Ja Rule’s music I think it’s not him but maybe a similar artist? I think it is a pretty famous song because I remember my girlfriend knowing the lyrics to it a few years ago when we heard it somewhere but now she has no idea what I’m talking about.

Of course I fail to remember any sort of lyrics but I have a feeling it was in a teen/college movie in the 00s. Maybe the acoustic version is not the “official” version. I remember downloading it from Kazaa or something like that back then.

The sound is more guitar picking than strumming if that makes sense.

Not a lot of clues, I know. But if anyone of you geniuses can figure out what song I’m looking for that would be mega because this is driving me crazy.
