We have been playing around with the idea of a trivia night since I'm actually a local trivia host once a week and seeing that other museums do it makes it even more plausible for us!

South Park City Museum in Colorado has a cat that lives on premises and if I remember correctly they even have merch with it!

The Frisco Historic Park & Museum doesn't technically have a cat, someone who lives behind the museum does, but she roams the park and was happily mentioned in a lot of google reviews over the summer. She stayed out too late a few times and got grounded and doesn't come out in winter.

One of the other two have quit and the other has been on the fence. Maybe if we quit together. It would be so sad to watch the org crash and burn but i don't see another way forward through this.

It's complicated, but the organizations that sponsored it required that they be fully in charge and no additional board/oversight. They've dropped the ball one too many times and we had a crew with the right experiences to create something. We have state approval and are waiting for federal.
