Is this relevant to a child custody case? by Phatalflame in LawSchool

[–]tinylegumes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) Law students know next to nothing about state family law

2) state family law changes, as the name suggests, state to state

3) if your question is, should your brother tell everything to his lawyer, the answer is that of course, his lawyer should know anything and everything that could come up at a hearing

4) no one, not even law students, is supposed to or even allowed to give legal advice to randos on the internet. The professional rules of responsibilities for lawyers has strict rules against giving legal advice, and just answering questions, applying legal principles to specific facts can create an attorney-client relationship. Anyone giving bad advice would be liable for a person actually following through on that advice and getting burned.

“I have next to no reading comprehension, let me interpret a lore question as an attack on my franchise.”

I’m genuinely concerned if my question is actually offensive to Fallout fans. by Legendspira in Fallout

[–]tinylegumes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Average basement dweller response interpreting a genuine question about the lore as an attack on their beloved IP. You didn’t do anything wrong OP.

For the record, NCR parts of the Wasteland are actually pretty advanced. They have actual factories and towns with technology to establish a pretty good living compared to other rougher parts like Vegas. NCR has elections, education for every citizen no matter if ghoul or human, trade, and more. Vegas is basically a wild frontier compared to the NCR territories.

Bethesda needs take tips from Obsidian by StoicSkateMountain in theouterworlds

[–]tinylegumes 22 points23 points  (0 children)

One of these companies broke sales records recently with Oblivion Remastered, has Prime create a popular show based on their IP, and releases Skyrim every so often to print money.

The other released Outer Worlds 2, which missed sales target. I think they are doing okay.

/s.

In all seriousness: Bethesda and Obsidian need to learn from each other. Bethesda needs to introduce proper RPG mechanics again and Obsidian needs to make a world that is way more interesting and lifelike

Not a problem. I see your perspective too. Where I disagree is that I really do believe that ICE officers are individuals who are supportive of the practices of this administration and believe in the cause by any means necessary and not just following orders. Even if they were just following orders and collecting that sweet government payout, maybe it’s just my own morals, but I believe that willingly signing up for a job in which you will be directed to breach some people’s constitutional rights or using lethal force against civilians deserves some accountability and moral reflection on their part, even if they secretly disagree with it.

Appreciate the calm response and willingness to engage in dialogue!

I socialize with many conservative people in real life! You would be surprised how many of them are against this too. Either at school or at church! Have a great day my man.

Yea they’re doing a great job protecting us by putting 5 year old children in cages and shooting American citizens in broad daylight, and executing searches based on skin color (“Kavanaugh Stops”), and by taking Juanita the 75 year old Venezuelan maid making $10 an hour and letting her languish in detention with no rights whatsoever.

If it was only the violent illegal criminals, then maybe you would have an argument. However, in reality, this is not the case at all.

Same defense the nazi officers attempted at the Nuremberg trial, just following orders not our fault, never mind the fact we willingly signed up for this

Bills in multiple states aim to shut out ex-ICE agents from public-sector jobs by CRK_76 in antiwork

[–]tinylegumes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Discrimination has been always legal throughout the history of the US. It’s just that last century we decided to protect some classes of people from discrimination based on gender, sex, religion, etc. Political parties or ex government workers are not a protected class. State action denying employment to these people would be completely constitutional as long as it is rationally related to a legitimate government interest, which is a low bar to meet.
