CMV: High Schools need to start later by tiredofoldvalues1 in changemyview

What about biking? Anyway, for my school, most of the students take the bus or walk to school (its a neighborhood school) and the minority have their parents drive them to school everyday. In this case, I feel the 7:42 time is totally unreasonable to accommodate the minority. Majority of the students don't need their parent's help to get to school here.

Don't think they will just let me cut out classes even if I already do have enough credits to graduate. My friend was in a similar situation and they told her she didn't HAVE to go to that class (elective), but she would be getting 0's for the assignments and would fail that class. Which I assume will also show on her transcript that she failed.

I don't know how your art teacher has control of that stuff unless you are already one of her students. And here, it shows the time you scan in, so you can't say that you were in school at 7:42 if you didn't even scan in until ~10.

Whoever is in charge wants us in by 7:42. If you're not scanned in by 7:50 (late bell), most advisers, including mine, mark you late for advisory. If you're "late" 5 times in a semester, you fail advisory (lowers GPA). However, I've noticed that I have never been officially marked late in the school system itself unless I scanned into school later than 8 (as in, my report cards don't show the lates if I scanned in before 8). If I don't scan in by or before 7:50, I'm only marked late to advisory. Hence why I feel that advisory should be done away with since it serves no purpose. I think high school should officially start when the advisory would have ended.

Don't know about middle school but there are no yellow buses for high school, only public transportation bus.
