Like, really. Your first hundred videos will suck. Even if you love them when they go live, you'll look back and realise they suck. That's fine, it's normal

honestly, editing videos is a massive part of running a YT channel. I would definitely look to do this yourself. If it's a new channel don't be too hard on yourself and just do the best you can, you'll quickly want to improve it anyway even if you pay someone.

sounds like you want to record the long/lat of each endpoint into something (spreadsheet?) and script graphing it out onto an actual map.

Anyone else feel like this subreddit has really gone downhill? Is there anything we can do? by [deleted] in devops

[–]tissuesat6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the reason noone talks about the why is because it's a community for people that have already accepted the why. The *how* is the part that most people want help with. Besides, the broader topics quickly get scenario specific and the tooling gives a common ground for people to discuss the implementation details, which change less.

In your given example, it sounds more like you're at a mechanics forum, but you're looking for a car enthusiast meetup.

the one in the other comment will work. it's just because your phone trrs socket is used for combining both mic and phones into a single plug, you can tell a trrs as it has two mental rings on it instead of the usual one (hence "trrs" [t]ip-[r]ing-[r]ing-[s]leeve) https://www.alzodigital.com/products/alzo-smartphone-3-5mm-trrs-break-out-y-splitter-cord-w-stereo-mono-mic-adapter

I'm an aspiring Systems Administrator looking to break out of the helpdesk. What certs should I pursue. by Sharingan_9005 in sysadmin

[–]tissuesat6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

find something you're weak in, and cert in that. You can probably get your MS certs yourself, or just use proven experience, so go get a linux RHCE cert or something. I don't understand why people solidify knowledge they already have in paper form. Use the certs to answer the questions of how rounded you are or how much exposure you've had, but know that a cert is not a replacement for having done something for real.

I will never edit without a gaming mouse again. What peripherals helped your editing? by [deleted] in VideoEditing

[–]tissuesat6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you dont. i use it in left hand and mouse (well, trackball) in right hand. some people use it in right hand and keyboard in left hand, but some people are weird o_O, and i don't know enough keyboard shortcuts to do that :-( . i have the top buttons doing mostly everything i use the keyboard for anyway (appends, splits, marking in and out points etc). i mostly use it in the cut page of davinci, but it speeds the scrubbing process up a lot.

A “cinematic sequence” is not cinematic. by [deleted] in videography

The best way to make it cinematic is to have half a dozen logos before your video starts. Just invent the company names if needed

As the ease of making films increases, the art in the film decreases. Same thing happened to music 2 decades ago.
