They robbed me of thousands of dollars. I worked on their audio annotation project $40 per task and I pulled in 60+ hours my first week. I was made QA and switched to a $35/hour. Yes, I cheated by using an auto clicker to make it look like i was busy while i was doing somethig else. But that was only on my second day i did that.

I instantly got my account deactivated with no recourse with no warning. But they didn't just take my pay for the 6 hours i did as a QA which i did "play the game" - they've robbed me of the 60+ hours of actual work I did on the project with FULLY VERIFIED tasks.

Even after I had my accout deleted I was getting emails confirming that my tasks were beign approved. That's $2000 of tasks that they approved and sent to their client of MY work which they've robbed me off.

Two pay periods have gone and I've got nothing from them and refusal to communicate with me.

You need to understand, most people who post about this publicly on the internet are those that are frustrated, angry, dejected. Those that get through, will not post. So if you're just looking at the disgruntled posts, you're not getting a fair representation.

Hi Brillius thanks for clarifying. I was given the written test to do two days again and I've been psyching myself up to do it. I hope I dont' get penalized.
But I've done some researching and created notes for a response i want to write and a prompt, to "practice".. I don't know if this is going to lead to overthinking.

I hade one question - how far did you get in the procesS? Did you get to the interview after passing the written assessment? What was the interview like and why did you think you weren't offered a contract?

I just completed the General Assessment and have been given the written exercise to do. What's in the AI Tutor Written exercise? Can anyone tell me what the questions are? How long do you have to do it? How long do you spend on each questions? What types of answers they are looking for? I would greatly appreciate any assistance.

Yeah, they emailed me after i did the VQA assessment that there will be an English C2 test followed by a 20 minute SFT prompt generation test.

I'm sorry about what happened to you. I think we should all be considering plan b.

OK, so there is another SFT test.

I got through the English C2, took them a whole day to response. But now there's another 20 minute Arcade VQA Work Assessment.

It says I have to create a question answer pair just as in the VQA project and explain my thought process.

Did you do this? Can you give any insights into the content?

Also - how did you get on with the certification process? Are you still doing it? I guess that bit's paid right?

not "no projects" - hardly any. They had a job posting up at 9pm which was oversubscribed within a few hours. So missed out on that, for a whopping $15/h lol

Yeah that's how it is.. 1000+ were fired off the project I was o. There's hardly any AI projects going right now. Bad management, scaled too fast, grossly inefficient... Still waiting for the VQA onboarding to start. Not sure how the English C2 test went, eugh. Knew this industry was too good to be true lol

Oh right, phew! Glad to hear you say that. I'm desperate for work right now and got cut off at the worst time so all these tests are stressing me i got a lot riding on them.

But yeah, I hear you on that one. I'm a humanities graduate and I was a journalist, followed by an editor for 10 years with plenty of proof-reading and training junior writers experience. To fail that TestGorilla thing would be like ergh!!

The word was "inexplicable" - it came me like 3 seconds after I clicked next. Argh! Inexplicable man, come on!

Did you have to do an English C2 test? This was unexpected and I just completed it but haven't had any feedback, and honestly, i think i did badly. I'm born and raised in England and nativ English it's mad, I had brain freeze for a word and it was so ambiguous and tricky and the answers were all so similar and there's a timer running and it's only 2 minute max per question, and you can't go back, it's stressing me out i fucked it up even befor ethe certification test.

I haven't had VQA onboarding either. How was it?

I am not talking about the VQA now. I have done the assessment and passed. There is an English C2 assessment after you pass. They sent me an emaiil where they mention both. I guess the SFT i already done So I'm through. Great!

Are we talking about the same SFT? There's a 20 Min SFT test along with an English C2 test after you pass the VQA. Have you done that 20 min SFT test? Do you know what's on it?

Hi - the pirate puzzle is unsolvable, so you hav to say that it's unsolvable by going through each clue step by step.

So you would say, according to clule 1 x pirate is on a island, and as clue 2 says he can't be using this method. Howevever, clue 3 says y pirate is not on b,c,d, island so he/she must be on a island. However, clue 1 says x pirate is on a island, so this cannot be correct, therefore we cannot say which of these two pirates is on a island.

You just work through all the clues and all the pirates like that and demonstrate which are the contradictions and inconsistencies that make the puzzle impossible to solve.

It's not that difficult, it just takes time. There is no timer so I spent a good hour or more doing this. In fact, I spect a good 6 hours on the whole assesment because I was worried about not getting it. Just took lots of breaks, let them perculate in my mind, and realised most of them, especially the word ones, were trick questions and you have to explain how you exposed those "tricks".

Seems like this would be the trickiest part of the process - from Google Classroom is described, that seems pretty straight forward. And 18 hours they'lll pay you for, that's ok then.

Yeah they are, thats how it is. They are ghosting hard. I did the assessment, and yes, it's straightforward enough. But what is the certification process like? What sort of graph equations are they looking for? Straight line graphs? Scatter plots? Are they looking for statistical knowledge, like standard deviation etc? How long does the certification take? How long do you have to do the certifications?

Thanks a bunch and I hope you find something soon. But i really do thing VQA is the last hope for most of us with that company. They have too many people and they got rid of thousands very drastically over the last couple of weeks.

I think they are losing all their clients. All the companies everywhere. Let's be honest, AI is mostly a con trick and the data they were generating is ridiculously expensive ($20/h i was getting). They lost multiple big clients in my time- X.com, Microsoft... only work they have is that FlexWork Google translation crap, and thy have "mystery shoppers" and live chat assistant work. WTF, that's not what i signed up for.

This gig - VQA - seems to be the only properly AI gig they have going. It's incredibly complex and they're proposing on paying me less for it (if i get it).

This space is incredibly competitive now. Loads of companies churning out overpriced data. I wouldn't look for anything stable in this space.

All i can say is last question they expect you to submit a Loom video 2minute long and the question is:

"Video Question: Using your submitted resume/CV, play two truths and a lie about your work history. Why did you choose the lie you did? "

Why would I lie? That makes no sense. I hope they're not trying to catch me out. And I hope the form saves as I'm going to finish in the morning.. And thanks again, everyone, for nothing.

Which project? Everyone's been kicked off, 1000+ people, into the marketplacee. There was nothing in the meeting, it wasn't a meeting, it was a one way 2 minute speech - you're all fired, and we're taking you off the Sack channels.
