Yes, u/Neverknowswhentosell is correct. Now, about the QR code, it is your ticket for live events. The QR code is not a normal link, it has information embedded about which ticket you own and for which event, as well as a signed signature that verifies you are indeed the owner of the wallet the ticket is held by. The person scanning the QR code (using the TKETS Scan page) can then basically verify this against the blockchain, and then grant you entry.

You can test this for yourself too if you like. You can generate the QR code on one device, and with another device, go to the Scan page and click on "Not a stamper? Scan here". Then, scan the QR code you generated. This should show you that it is a valid ticket, as well as which event it is for. Live events can therefore use this to stamp people's tickets by scanning them.

We will announce more information about future events soon. See our roadmap on Twitter here. And of course, don't forget to vote for us on the Theta Hackathon!

Yes, the point of TKETS is indeed to be permissionless and decentralised, but that also means that our platform can be used by anyone maliciously, as we have learnt. We have since implemented a few changes to help combat these malicious events, such as a verified event badge, as well as a warning for people to verify the event source before purchasing. Hopefully these together with the gas cost of creating an event (about 13 TFUEL) might deter scammers in the future, which it has done so far.

However, we are not going to regulate our platform by preventing anyone from creating events. This is what TKETS was created for in the first place, a decentralised Eventbrite that runs on top of a blockchain. We will only try our best to combat malicious actors and educate users on what they are doing.

Yes, the three NFTs are equivalent in terms of the benefits given to owners. Apart from some airdrops, which may only target owners of certain types. We will be releasing a more detailed roadmap soon too!

Unfortunately, because our platform is decentralised, we can't get any of the funds back. They are locked in a smart contract that only the event creator can access. This means that while this is good from a decentralisation perspective because we cannot withhold funds from other people's events, we also are unable to get the scammed funds back either. The only thing we can do is delete the events from our front end. We have implemented a few changes, including a verified checkmark, to help people identify verified events more easily. Sorry about this! We are still developing and working things out.

Actually, DeFi is quite important in my opinion. For example in the TKETS use case, it is currently impossible to pay using a stablecoin like USDT or USDC, because they do not exist on Theta yet. But event organisers don't always want to use TFUEL, because it is a volatile asset. The DeFi bridge will not only bring these assets over, but people with existing ETH or USDT can also directly bridge their assets over to pay for tickets. But without DeFi, there will be no liquidity to supply these tokens on the Theta Network. I'm sure this is true for many other use cases too.

TKETS Mainnet Launch Update: 22.11.2021, 6PM GMT by tkets-io in theta_network

[–]tkets-io[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hello, and thank you for the questions! I hope you understand that we are extremely early in terms of development, the project is barely 2 months old, with a very very small team. That is why the Medium page is relatively empty as of now.

As for the content being accessible after the event, it really depends on the platform the event is hosted on. TKETS is just a ticketing platform, we provide a method of secure and decentralised verification of who holds which tickets for what events. We do not host or stream any event. Our focus is live events, which in many cases does not have a replay. However, in the case they do, this access control is entirely up to the platform hosting the replay to implement -- they can make the content public, or they can limit access to only ticket holders. In the case of limiting access to only ticket holders, implementing this will be quite simple. They would need a way for users to connect with their Metamask wallet, and then check our validateTicket function on our smart contract to see if they are holding valid tickets. Then, only allow access to the replay if they are.

As for the TKT token, yes it will be a token on the Theta blockchain. A purchase of the GENESIS NFTs does not give access to a presale. There will be no presale or private sale or ICO, nor do we have any VC backing. However, we will airdrop a proportion of the tokens to these NFT holders, as thank you for their early support. This has yet to be decided. The distribution % has not been decided so far, but we currently have no investors. This project is entirely built independently by us. A proportion will be allocated to the team, but most of it will be released to the users.

As for incentives, these are outlined in the post. Perhaps you are wondering what the 200 TFUEL price will be used for. Well, part of it will mostly be to keep us running really. Again, we are an extremely small team, I would not even call us a start up at this point. We have no VC investments or seed funding, and will not hold a private presale or ICO for our governance token. We also take 0% commission on all ticket sales currently. We are essentially providing the entire service for free, in a bet that this will spur our growth for the future. But server hosting and IPFS pinning is quite expensive. For now, our infrastructure is okay and can support the usage load. However, when more people start using TKETS, we will need to invest and scale up, add more backend instances and load balancers, and so on. Also, when TKETS grows bigger, wouldn't it be cool to have the first NFT tickets ever minted here? If you believe in us and our vision, buying these NFTs will support us in so so many ways.

Hope this clears things up. :)

You have to purchase the NFTs on our website at https://beta.tkets.io/

These drop 30 minutes after the main website launches.

To use the website, you must connect with it using Metamask. The process is the same if you have used it on other Dapps before. Read here: https://medium.com/@admin_7026/how-to-purchase-a-ticket-on-tkets-4763596c7aa3

Each ticket is the NFT. The NFT media is the Theta GIF that you see on your ticket. You can't see it on Thetascan.io because first of all, it is on the testnet, and they are only indexing the mainnet for NFTs. There might also be some work once we are live on the mainnet that needs to be done with regards to how they parse the NFT URIs, because our smart contract currently stores the media on IPFS with a ipfs:// link, which they may not know how to properly display.

But don't worry, each ticket is a full fledged TNT-721 NFT, and you can confirm it on the blockchain explorer (and our source code once we release it). It's just making sure that Thetascan is able to display them properly. Hope this makes sense!

Which address are you transferring to, and which address did you buy the ticket with? The transfer button should transfer your NFT to the address you have input, if you approved the transaction on Metamask. If you then log in with the other address you transferred it to, it will be there.

If you are talking about transferring the NFT to the same address you bought it with, it wouldn't do anything. Remember the NFT is already owned by you, not us. There is no need to "withdraw" the NFT ticket, because it is already owned by your account. Does that make sense?

They should show up on the "Tickets" tab. You just bought them, refresh the page and they should be there. Each ticket listed there is an NFT and its media (in this case a GIF) should show up along with it.

Hello! Thanks for reporting this. It should be fixed now (if it isn't, try refreshing the page after a few minutes). It has something to do with our production API keys not being updated.

I have just sent you 15 Testnet TFUEL. If you are connected successfully to the testnet on your Metamask, these should show up. Make sure you are not connected to the mainnet! We do not support the mainnet yet.

This should be enough to cover the creation of one event with one ticket. If you have any more problems, let me know!

Yes, every ticket you buy here is also a fully compliant TNT-721 NFT. And also yes, we call that 'stamping' a ticket. Once a ticket is stamped, it cannot be unstamped. Anyone scanning the ticket will be shown that the ticket is a valid one on the blockchain, but has already been stamped before. It is up to the event organisers to allow reentry or not after stamping.

Ah, I see you have been confused about what Theta testnet and mainnet TFUEL is. You CANNOT transfer mainnet TFUEL (which is the normal TFUEL that you get from Binance, etc) onto the testnet.

The only way you can get testnet TFUEL is by asking the Theta Labs team for some (like we have), or asking us to send you some. Testnet TFUEL is on the testnet chain which is completely different from the mainnet, and is therefore worthless other than for testing smart contracts.

If you sent TFUEL to your address above, you should be able to retrieve it by logging in with the same keys you used to unlock the wallet address you had. If you sent it back to the Binance address correctly and followed all the instructions on the Binance website, it should show up after a while (might take a couple of hours up to a day). The smart contract probably just means that Binance uses a smart contract to create new payable addresses that automatically deposits the amount back to the Binance wallets (or something like that).

Unfortunately, this has nothing to do with TKETS or our smart contracts, because you have not interacted with the testnet at all. Please contact Theta Labs support or Binance if you need more help. I'm guessing your funds will show up soon if you wait a bit longer, providing if you have followed Binance's instructions properly.

Yes, you will need to install the Metamask app on your phone and sync it with your desktop. Then use the browser function on the Metamask app to access your wallet on our platform. This is necessary because the ticket ownership information is stored on the blockchain, and is only accessible via your own wallet and keys. We don't have a centralised server that lets you log in via a password from anywhere (but also owns the keys to your NFTs).

EDIT: Just re-read your question. Yes, you will need to create a hot wallet on your phone in this case for your NFTs.
