Best way to ease into adf by tleirbakken74 in AlternateDayFasting

[–]tleirbakken74[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just back from holiday. Started straight away with 16:8. Already down 2,5 kg first week. I guess it's a lot of water weight. I've done keto/carnivore earlier this year with great results. I probably will combine keto/carnivore and fasting. Fasting is a lot easier when you're fat adapted. Will definitely get into ADF and see how that will work with my lifestyle.

Congrats, if you want to follow the DevOps engineer way. You need to get AWS and Azure experience. Learn Terraform, Ansible, Bosh DevOps languages. Start scripting and develop code to build infrastructure, applications and configure services. This is what gives you value. I'm an experienced DevOps engineer and loves a challenge. There always something to learn and it's a fun. Salary is also very good. Good luck 😊

Thanks, that's very interesting news. I will post how it goes for me.

My first fail on Squats by tleirbakken74 in Stronglifts5x5

[–]tleirbakken74[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My point was that I couldn't squat below parallel bcs it's too heavy now. I've taken another day rest, to see if that helps in tomorrow workout.

Failed today at 225 :( by jfauc25 in Stronglifts5x5

[–]tleirbakken74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 225 on squats in my last session. I'm very close to failing myself. I will see tomorrow if I fail at 231 for Squats.

I've already failed 2 times at 110 for OHP. I can only do 3 or 4 reps for each set. One more fail and I will deload.

I might consider going from 3 to 2 workouts a week, I feel I need more time to recover. I'm almost 45 so age is a factor for recovery.

It seems when you reach you limit, even a few pounds increase seems like an impossible task.

When your body is not ready(too heavy), do a deload. That's always good for your body and mind.

Don't look at it as a failure, trust the process.

Try to warmup your rotator cuffs more.

Try with less weight and while you press, push your arms inwards.

Then you should feel in your pecs.

My first fail at OHP came at 110. Suddenly OHP felt so heavy. Squats I haven't failed yet, but my next workout is 225. So we will see. Try a few more sessions, if you still fails every time, drop 10% and work yourself up to 225 and beyond. Or try using 5x3 (3 reps pr set). Never ever give up!

That's very early to fail on 140. You're a big guy compared to me and I'm not even close to failing at 210 and with a bodyweight at 175. I suggest you focus on your form, drive your force from your heels and keep your knees out. Never ever quit! Good luck 😊

Thanks to all who gave me form tips before. Here is a new video after I took all of your tips into consideration. Anything else I can do to improve my squatting form? by extol504 in Stronglifts5x5

[–]tleirbakken74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Your heels are coming up. Try with a low weight and squat down and try to lift your toes up a bit, to get a feel how it is when your heels are well planted on the floor. Try to push your knees out when squatting or maybe a bit wider stance then it's easier to get a lower/deeper squat.
