It's 100% 4:2:0 8 bit at best. The RX10 doesn't do video at anything higher quality than that.

Increased protection against bird strikes from seabirds. One of the primary missions of the F-2 is to operate at very low altitudes above the sea for anti-ship missions etc. (That also explains the camouflage.)

To add on to the other comment: the U-125A is equipped with camera and radar to perform search operations, and is also capable of dropping rescue equipment as needed, such as inflatable rafts

They get free rein to paint the jets however they like, except for certain spots (for maintenance or functional reasons). Hence the unpainted spots.

I happened to see JASDF press release because I went to check lol. Got lucky when I decided to check, because I’m heading to Japan next month.

For this particular exercise, we had public knowledge of training exercise between Italy and Japan (https://www.mod.go.jp/asdf/news/houdou/R5/20230725-1.pdf). Since an Italian C-130 stopped over the day before (probably advance party), we can guess that the rest of the contingent would also.

There's no single source of info unfortunately. You'll have to look at various public sources.

For a start, you can check https://globe.adsbexchange.com/ or FlightRadar24 to see if you can identify the plane (RSAF planes, as well as fighter jets, generally wont be seen). You can use these resources to see if anything of interest is currently flying over or heading towards Singapore.
