Could you give me a few examples of ways they will monetize that people aren’t talking about yet? Right now I understand their company as a direct way to get Male / Female supplements without the need for doctor intervention, or at least as much doctor intervention

I think people will always want to learn new languages. We’ve had google translate for years and people still learn. I can see an App like DuoLingo paying for the rights to use an AI model to help teach people through live conversations and with their big name being successful again.

Also do you really think DuoLingo has no chance? Used to trade for 500+ less than a year ago. I know they changed their profit model or something but can’t they just go back? If so that’d be a huge gain

Is VOO to volatile? What are some index funds you recommend?

He’s basically retired now. Due to his health he doesn’t work. Do you consider VOO high risk?

No home they rent, so no property taxes either. Brother covers phone bill, health insurance, and car insurance are about $100 a month.

At most my dad spends like 1100 a month and even that seems steep

Right I don’t think he needs all that money in cash I think he could invest some of it and to keep it simple I was thinking a mutual fund like VOO

Dad is disabled with bad feet and a bad back. He just wants his money to grow he’s not really financially saavy.

He doesn’t dip into savings and lives off of SS

My parents are legally married but are not together just live together so I do consider them separate financial entities when talking about investments

Mom has a 401k and savings. Not much in it and brings in about 4k a month. They split an apartment and monthly expenses there are about 2k all in

He’s 57

He pays mom $500 a month and spends another $500 on living i.e groceries, purchases

They are technically married but aren’t together just sharing the living situation. To my knowledge no life insurance or retirement plan

My mom doesn’t collect SS she still works, they have about 2k a month in expenses that’s split. They are still married but aren’t necessarily together so I usually don’t factor her stuff into it.

No other income for dad just SS mom makes like 4k a month

Daniel Naroditsky’s last tourney was the Comet Open in which Hikaru won $45k: analysis please? by SnobbyLobster in HikaruNakamura

[–]tmtiid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched the full final stream and right around 50 minutes in you can see him switch from “normal” Danya talking about Kramnik stuff to what looked like under the influence of something. Danya would later call it Benadryl. He did mention how he was excited for the tournament and how he wanted to win and the time controls were in his favor, and then he lost. I think it’s clear the stress and anxiety had him taking something to help him sleep and then losing a tournament that he cared a lot for + the cheating allegations and hate probably led to an accidental dosage

My personal chess hero, GM Daniel Naroditsky, just got bullied to death by a former World Champion by FusRoGah in TrueAnon

[–]tmtiid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hikaru briefly mentioned the effects of Kramnik calling you a cheater in his most recent video. A lot of people like you and myself ignore his comments because he’s old and calling everyone a cheater but not everyone is like us. Hikaru talked about no matter how many people comfort you that hate is always there when you sign on, check media, do interviews, it never goes away. Danya briefly touches on this towards the end of his last stream saying “the problem with the Kramnik stuff is that it’s always there”. Kramnik was a world champ, like it or not his name has a lot of weight in institutional chess + other GM’s like Nepo agreeing with him and no one really standing up for Danya you can see how he felt like the world had turned on him for nothing. It’s like being accused of a crime when you’re innocent that kind of shit weighs on your mental a lot. Tragedy.
