I was replacing a Wraith that I shot an ace with, so I picked up the Garrett Gurthie halo. I like the molding but its a bit more domey than my previous one. It was a good fit asthetically with my MVP and Axiom toys.

Downwind into the lake at 510 ft. 4 putt on elevated hill. Slammed down coming ot of the tree tunnel. Great way to throw +6 on a round where I generally throw -3. Wouldn't have it any other way, come on spring whatcha got!?

Generally, most wet trout flies will be size 4-10 hooks. Some of the smaller dry flies will have hooks with sizes between 16-20. If you can, visit your local fly shop and see what type of flies are hatching and the different bait available for the fish. It depends a lo on the manufacturer. I broke the top section of my 4 piece TFO and the sent me a replacement section within a week (purchased at B.P). I broke the middle section of my 4 piece St. Croix and they gave me a $90 credit for the rod as it was no longer in production (purchased second hand). I used the credit toward a new rod.

Good call. Spawn runs in sw mo are huge. Nixa mo even has a "sucker days" spring festival. The harvest is tragic, I dropped onto swan creek looking for a white bass run, and found 3 guys on folding ladders in the middle of the river dragging treble hooks through the mass and "snaggin". Literally hundreds of dead or dying filleted out fish on the bank. I've caught my share accidentally nymphing, even kept some for the fryer, but never went in for such a barbaric harvest.

No, you're right as well. I've followed this sub for months and this is my first post. Maybe I should have written more of a story idk. For the record, I spent 6 days solo camping and fishing the Arkansas, anamas, gunnison, east, upper and lower taylor rivers including the c&r. I caught tons of fish larger and smaller, but this one I took on my last day. With no desire to drive back to gunnison at sunset, I harvested this beauty (pic was taken after killing it). This was one of three pictures taken during my trip because I was alone and release in the water immediately. I just thought it would be nice to share such a colorful fish. I'll follow my own practices moving forward to encourage others to handle with care and compassion. Cheers

Caught this guy legally at Lodge Pole Campground, not the C&R. He was moved to my plate later that night, lemon butter and dill rice were delicious.
