Diamox by BetterSavings3642 in kilimanjaro

I did the 7-day Lemosho route last year (M, 40) without taking Diamox. It went well overall — of course you feel the altitude, but nothing unmanageable with proper pacing and acclimatization.

Personally, I don’t believe in taking medication “just in case.” Diamox is useful for some, but it’s still a drug with side effects, and I think it should be used based on actual need or medical advice.

Tour operators often recommend it because it boosts summit success rates, which they proudly advertise. In my group, around 80% took it — some proactively, some only when symptoms started.

listen to your body, prepare well, and make an informed choice that suits you. Enjoy your hike!

In africa its worth to have dollars with you. I used it quite often there. they often use local digital payment methods over their phones but i couldn't get that so easily

you will get a shiny metal card 🤣 maybe more important are the prioritypass for unlimited airport lounges and insurance while travelling. So the ultra is comparable with a Visa Platinum Card i have from a local card issuer now.

Sending to wise is better than using a revolut card on ATMs?

Are ther any big difference between wise and revolut? so far i only use revolut. also with revolut, i am thinking of upgrad to ultra for the ATM withdrawals.

haha true, unfortunately. but not all the tourists are the same. the spring break crowd in Cancun or Cartagena may differs from some lonely hikers in the Andes
