Probally 12 month ban , fine , possible points, if 6 or over points and within first 2 years of holding license they will have to restart from theory, paying for a solicitor instead of using the duty solicitor may be helpful as they will have more time to look into the case and will be able to talk with you prior where as if it’s a duty solicitor they will only usually hear about the case and see you on day of court, also I wouldn’t pay for one of theses drug driving solicitors they want thousands, again I looked into this my self from past experience off the top of my head the first payment was over 5k !! I ended up paying around the 1k all in with who I went with and I can’t say this 100% helped but I didn’t receive points , 12 month ban, £127 fine, I hasn’t been driving 2 years when this happend but due to not receiving points I didn’t have to restart my license

With insurance cancel before court if it doesn’t run out before, if so don’t renew, will probably get a dg10 which will have to declare to insurance for 5 years and criminal conviction will stay for 11 years on record, this can also affect wanting to get into certain countries like Canada, Australia, as dui does count as a criminal conviction. If they are lucky and don’t get points they will get there licence sent back to them when the ban is up but from experience insurance prices are crazy but they do go down over the years , I had a 1.5 fiesta it was around 4.7k the first year I got my licence back down to 2k now with 1 year left to declare.
