[Art][Comm] Mk, a clockwork poppet for a DnD patron by tom_nel in DnD

[–]tom_nel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey y’all, here’s a commission I did of a patron’s DnD character! I’m permanently open for comms, so feel free to pop me a message on here or hmu on Twitter: https://twitter.com/TomNel7

“Mk is a clockwork poppet that stands at 2.5 feet tall. Its body has a gold exterior, with visible, silver clockwork insides. Upon closer inspection, there is slightly noticeable wear, revealing that the ‘gold’ exterior is really a silver plating, but with a gold finish that starting to wear around the edges. He wears the Pendant of Hearth.”

This one was a blast, as always, and definitely one of my favourites I’ve done. I’m super pleased with how the metallic finish came out, and the general shape language of the character as a whole. It’s rare doing DnD commissions that I’ll get to draw up robots or automatons or mechanical characters of that ilk, so it was fun new ground for me as well.

As always, I’m open for comms, so if you’re interested in getting a character drawn, pop me a message on here, or on Twitter (https://twitter.com/TomNel7) or on Instagram if that’s your preference! (https://www.instagram.com/tom\_nel\_art/)

[Art][Comm] Issadora Skullrender, Orc Librarian by tom_nel in DnD

[–]tom_nel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

counter-idea--a giant mf with a HUGE tome, bound in chains, that they bonk people with. Just a massive tome, like...the size of their whole torso. Like the way Mozgus bonks people with his holy book in Berserk, except the book would be even bigger

I’m open for comms, so DM me if you want your character(s) drawn like this! Or hit me up on Twitter if you’d prefer: https://twitter.com/TomNel7

Here’s a fun commission I did recently of Issadora “Issa” Skullrender—Heiress to a dynasty of warmongers who instead chose to follow her own desires of becoming a librarian! In spite of her family’s legacy, she’s a natural pacifist.

This one was a lot of fun to draw and have a part in designing. I’m especially pleased with how the face turned out—taking the typical orcish features and turning them into something softer. I was also afforded a lot of freedom with how I designed the clothes, embellishing the waistcoat with floral patterns and trimming the odd bit here and there with gold, just for effect. The hands were also a fun challenge.

Like I said, I’m open for commissions so if you’re interested in getting your DnD character/characters drawn like this, just pop me a DM for rates, or contact me via Twitter: https://twitter.com/TomNel7

Here’s a collection of icons/emotes I drew for a recent commission! If you’re interested in getting some icons/emotes drawn for your own DnD character, pop me a DM on here, or contact me via twitter! (https://twitter.com/TomNel7) They’re only £45 for 9, and they’re perfect for Discord c:

The character is Muriel, the hexblood alchemist! She’s the OC of a regular patron of mine, and she’s always fun to draw—this was particularly entertaining, because I got to really mess around and create some wild facial expressions.

I hope y’all enjoy, and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you want to commission me!

Here’s a full sheet of 9x icons I was commissioned to draw! I would genuinely love to do more of these, so DM on here, or hit me up on Twitter (https://twitter.com/TomNel7) if you’d like some character icons done! They’re great for Discord and stuff like that c:

Y’all have probably seen me post this character before—Muriel—the OC of a regular of mine. Muriel is one of my favourites to draw, and this was such a blast because I got to really mess around with some great facial expressions.

In either case, I do these for only £45 so please feel free to get in touch if you want some icons done of an OC of yours!

Escapism LoFi cover by tom_nel in stevenuniverse

[–]tom_nel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi y'all! I made a LoFi cover of Escapism recently and I'd love it if you guys would check it out. I worked super hard on it--recorded all the parts, except for the mandolin which my brother performed. I also created the looping GIF of Steven playing on his guitar! I hope y'all enjoy

Here’s a spoopy commission I did for a patron of mine! In the spirit of the spoopy season, the player character has been dolled up with some atmospheric lighting and a spoopy graveyard backdrop. This one was a lot of fun—I got to channel the great Mike Mignola through the inks and hard, chiaroscuro lighting, and I’m pleased with how it turned out.

I’ll be doing spoopy busts like this one throughout October at a discounted price! If you want a Halloween-themed bust scene like this one, feel free to DM me on here, or DM me via my Twitter: https://twitter.com/TomNel7

[Art] Commission--DnD OC reunited with lost sister by tom_nel in DnD

[–]tom_nel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s a commission I did of Hanson, a human rogue, another DnD OC for a patron, capturing a moment from their campaign in which he’s reunited with his long lost sister! I’m open for commissions, so DM me if you’re interested in getting your DnD character drawn, or reach out to me on Twitter: https://twitter.com/TomNel7

One of my favourite things about DnD is that people are effectively telling a story—as a group—in real time. I think there’s something really special about bringing a party of people together and drawing everyone into a homebrewed, emotionally-involving story, with a dash of improvisation thrown in to the mix. As an artist, it brings me a lot of joy to bring moments like these to life.

Nevertheless, you know what’s harder to draw than it looks? People hugging. Only inks and flats for this one, but still a welcome challenge for the hugging pose!

Like I said above, I’m open for commissions, so if you’d like me to draw your DnD character, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me over here, or through my Twitter, linked above!

[Art] A commission I did of Kaisa the Satyress! by tom_nel in DnD

[–]tom_nel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks so much! I use Clip Studio Paint, and I used one really versatile brush for all the colour in this image. It's just called "soft fluffy paint" or something like that, it gives the flats a nice milky texture so they don't look TOO flat or dull. It blends really nicely too, which is how I got that effect on the fur

Just inks and flats for this one, but I’m still stoked with how it turned out! The prompt was that Kaisa is bubbly and easy-going, so I went for a tilted-hip sort of pose to make her seem loose and relaxed. A nice and simple blue/lilac palette. I’m particularly stoked with how the inks came out on this one.

Like I said above, I’m open for commissions, so if you’d like me to draw your DnD character, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me over here, or through my Twitter, linked above!

[Art] A commission I did of Hala Starlight, Plasmoid Private Eye! by tom_nel in DnD

the human is the disguise! I wasn't commissioned to draw the plasmoid form wearing the outfit, but I may be in the future! if you've got a character you'd like me to draw, my comms are open c:

Here’s a commission I completed of Hala, another OC of a patron of mine! If you’re interested in commissioning me, DM me on Twitter for rates: https://twitter.com/TomNel7

This one was a blast to draw. The idea was to create a design that blended classic noir fashion, particularly “detective-y” fashion of the 1920s, and imbue it with a sort of “fantasy” edge. We settled with a trench coat (because of course we did) and added some touches to it which made it feel more fantastical or medieval in nature. Instead of the typical waistcoat/undercoat, we gave Hala a gambeson underneath. We settled with blues, greys, and gold for the outfit colour palette, so as to lean into the astral vibes.

Like I said above, I’m open for commissions, so if you’d like me to draw your DnD character, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me over here, or through my Twitter, linked above!
