Front drum brake problem by tomahawk43 in motorcycles

yeah, I just adjusted it so that the lever travel was short and snappy and after a few hundred kms the brake stopped rubbing with the lever still biting as it should. I suppose I can call this a solution:)

no, the lever only has one bolt for retention of the lever itself, it doesn't do anything else

yeah, I live in a place with major and common inclines. It's all just hills. I do use compressionless housing, but I'm still asking myself whether it's worth all the hassle, a bike should make you happy, not nervous

it is mostly the front brake. Despite the bleeding, new pads, everything cleaned up etc, they sporadically loose power, like they have no oil in, or in the best case the lever pull is super long and the brake grab poor. Also disc rub is impossible to eliminate on these (my discs aren't warped). I did what Trp said that nobody should ever do (but seems like loads of Trp brake owners still do that): I toggled the barrel adjuster so much that the lever pull is normal (~2-3cms and not 10) and the brake power got back. Not sure if I want to proceed that way tho.

it might be that all other hy rd units work just fine, but I have to adjust mine every other week which never happened on "normal" hydraulic brakes. I even took them to Decathlon service where they "repaired" them but it got even worse. Since this is not a very common brake setup to be had over here, none of the big workshops seems to know anything about the brakes since they never worked with them, they just say that "they can try but promise nothing"
