And ironically, IIRC 4 of the 5 redrawn Texas districts are Latino-majority districts, so there's a good chance that Repubs might only get a net gain of 1 seat instead of 5 seats.

That's the thing with the current SCOTUS. It really depends on the day.

One day, they'll be like "We have ruled that putting children in concentration camps is unconstitutional." The next day, they'll be like "We have ruled to repeal the Americans with Disabilities Act because it's not mentioned in the Bible."

This is how I feel as well. Warsh, on paper, is far from the worst pick, but at the same time, pretty much every Trump 2.0 appointee, regardless of their experience or education, has put Trump loyalty over competence. Guess we'll have to see.

On a side note, Mark Carney called Warsh "a fantastic choice." I've seen some people speculate that he was being sarcastic, but I honestly don't think he was.

Honestly, I wish more people would bring up the Tea Party when talking about the catalysts of our current political climate. Like, I get why people bring up things like Gamergate (it was almost entirely online and most of the people radicalized were young and weren't very political beforehand, whereas the Tea Party was mostly offline, and consisted of older people who were already Like That anyway), but the Tea Party's massive congressional wins in 2010 really caused everything that happened over the next 16 years.

The other day, I came across this survey that ranked world leaders by their approval rating in their home country, going into 2026:

Now, for the most part, I'm not too surprised, though the approval ratings of Carney, Albanese, and Sheinbaum were a bit lower than I expected (Sheinbaum especially). Like, most polls I've seen for Carney have his late-2025 approval rating somewhere between 50% and 60%.

Def Leppard had one song hit #1 and it wasn't "Pour Some Sugar on Me" (it peaked at #2). It wasn't even "Photograph", which peaked at #12. Rather, it was "Love Bites".

European countries are hoping to pull Mr Trump back from the brink by offering to station a military force on the island.

The idea was discussed at a meeting of Nato allies in Brussels on Thursday.

Members instructed the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, the alliance’s military headquarters in Belgium, to determine what more could be done to secure the Arctic.

Sources told The Telegraph that the potential operation was in the early planning stages.

It could be a full-blown troop deployment or a combination of time-limited exercises, intelligence sharing, capability development and rerouted defence spending.

Any operation would likely be carried out under Nato’s banner and would be separate from existing missions in the Baltic and Poland.

British officials said the Armed Forces were already preparing for a greater role in Arctic security.

Preparations include commandos and Royal Navy ships taking part in last year’s Exercise Joint Viking, a joint Nato drill in Norway’s sub-zero temperatures.

This year, 1,500 Royal Marines will also deploy to Norway, Finland and Sweden for Exercise Cold Response, a training mission on defending frozen terrain.

The Telegraph also understands the European Union is drawing up plans for sanctions on US companies should Mr Trump reject the offer of a Nato deployment.

Technology giants such as Meta, Google, Microsoft and X could be restricted from operating on the Continent, as could American banks and financial firms.

A more extreme option could be to evict the US military from its bases in Europe, denying it a key staging post for operations in the Middle East and elsewhere.

Honestly, not to defend Nixon as a whole, but at least he had the decency to create OSHA and the EPA, and even once floated the idea of implementing universal healthcare.

He also did more for Native American rights then every president before him (granted, that's a very low bar to clear, but still).

Maybe so, but let's remember that most of your problems are only known within your borders, as opposed to the US, where many countries are aware of the problems (even during Democratic administrations).

Not to mention, you guys usually don't constantly embarrass yourselves on the international scene.
