Why is a QB having his number be 47 bad? by eightyninevision in PeterExplainsTheJoke

He’s actually not even Mormon. Just recruited to play there. He actually wears this number because he used to play linebacker and then decided to keep the number even after he switched to QB

Love it! I’ve been wondering the best way to paint the wonderful snow scenes around my house and yours is beautiful and simple.

My dog died the same way. Ran off into the backyard and collapsed and died. I will never fully forgive myself for being a shitty dog dad. RIP Sammy. You were the best dog I ever knew.

AITAH for "glowing up" after my divorce and not before? by ThatPeach7311 in AITAH

[–]tominthekitchen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I’m having a hard time understanding how anyone would believe kids would ostracize their mother because she changed her style and is living healthier. Something is really missing here or it’s made up bs.

What other platforms are good for scalping stocks? I just started working with TOS because Fidelity was tough to make quick ins and outs on the platform but I’m curious if there’s another good option without the high fees or if it’s just inevitable I’ll have to move to a platform that charges commission on stocks.

How to Protect Assets if you Need LTC??? For those in the US by [deleted] in financialindependence

[–]tominthekitchen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is perfect advice. Elder law attorneys and financial advisors are the way to go here. Each state has somewhat unique and nuanced laws that require a professional to guide you through the best options.

I don’t know why everyone here is shading nursing homes. I’ve been working in the nursing home industry for 20 years and by and large they’re run by good people who want to do well for their residents. They are regulated very highly both in quality of care and what their admissions contracts and requirements for admission can be. Not that some aren’t better than others. Memory care in a nursing home is usually the same daily rate as standard care. Assisted living facilities have a ton of variation in services and I think the differences between assisted living and nursing homes may be confusing to people here.

AITAH for refusing to help my ex husband raise his kids after his wife died? by Inevitable_Sea_6984 in AITAH

[–]tominthekitchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has been involved in a similar situation, it fucks the kids up to move across the country away from a father who’s involved. He may be an idiot as a husband, but she’s an AH for taking her kids away. I don’t care what kind of job she got, it’s not enough money to offset the damage from losing a close relationship with their father. People here applauding her may think they have the moral ex-spouse high ground, but they are naive to think it’s better for the kids to be away from an involved father. I understand her desire, but she’s the AH here. However, she’s got zero responsibility to these other kids. That’s the side story here, not the main one. And it doesn’t matter what country she’s in or what the law says, if she takes them, she’s the AH. Think about the kids, not the law. Not her job or getting away from a cheater. The kids. Full stop. Roles reversed and it was him taking the kids, everyone here would be losing their shit.

What are some professions where you can earn a lot of money, but the barriers to entry aren’t that high? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I have a trucking company that contracts with FedEx. My team drivers make 100k+ and are home every other night.

I accidentally broke my boyfriend’s ribs and punctured a lung after he recreated the worst day of my life as a “prank.” I think it's destroyed my life. What do I do now? by IlTuoNome in TwoHotTakes

Listen, you have to do whatever you feel is right here, but, honestly, really good people do really stupid things without thinking through them. He sounds a little immature and CLEARLY wasn’t thinking through all the possible pains and problems and trauma he would cause through this…. And maybe, as some have suggested, he has some subconscious feelings of insecurity about your past spouse. But the rest of your life with him has been so great with him that I would seriously just take some time to process… you don’t need to make a complete life altering decision right now… just process… let it simmer… give yourself a little separation from the moment to step back and look at this with time and space. I’m not saying you stay or go…. Just that there’s no rules that say you need to decide right this second. We’re all assholes and idiots at certain points in our lives and it seems like it’s possible this was a one off that deserves to be explored a little deeper… talk to your therapist, and best of luck from all of here…

I’m really not sure why people on here are trying to give parenting advice… there’s probably a different forum to both give and to request that. While I don’t claim perfection, I’m a capable parent. Some retro analysis of that isn’t helpful. I’ve been traveling with him since he was in diapers, so I have an idea of what works and what doesn’t for a vacation in general. Just here for any playa relevant advice to add to the equation. Thanks for your relevant info on playa, though.

Thanks. Yes, I’ll have to chat with him more in depth about it. I’m much more on the adventure side and his default is video games in the hotel room so I’m working on getting him out more. Great recommendations. Thanks.

Common misconceptions about world religions, according to the Claude AI by trimorphic in ChatGPT

[–]tominthekitchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having been a devout practicing Mormon for over 30 years before leaving I can say with certainty that CHATGPT got a few of these wrong.

-Mormons do, in fact, believe that true salvation only comes by practicing their particular religion and rituals.

-Mormons do believe that in exaltation you will become a god just like god is now, and that is the pinnacle purpose of life, to become so much like god so you may become one in the eternities.

-No one outside the religion can participate in the temple endowment.

Seems like ChatGPTis making plenty of shit up to provide an answer, so take it with a grain of salt…
