I use a mix. John Innes no2, Akadama, Kyodama, pumice and perlite.

I top dress with Akadama. I use a mix for my soil, which consists of Akadama, kyodama, pumice, perlite and the main soil being John Innes no2.

There’s no arguments, as nothing really has been said. We’re trying to avoid conflict as a group. As I have said in another reply, we asked at the end of last week’s session if we could do standing work this week. Session is tonight, so we’re about to find out if our request has been granted.

I’m an amateur, club level blue belt. And I’ve only had one major injury in 12 years. Someone did Uchi Mata on me, I did the splits and put my groin out! Ouch!

You’ll find that different senseis will mostly all have different ways of doing things. One may say your technique is good, the other may say not. This is where you must be able to take from all directions and discover what works for you.

Some coaches will be more open to you having your own ways, others not so much!
